After making audiences swoon with his transformation into Spanish heartthrob Enrique Iglesias in the previous round of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” Jarlo Base once again proves that he can be versatile through his awesome impersonation of host Vhong Navarro, performing his double platinum hit, “Totoy Bibo.”
Everybody obviously enjoys it so much, especially Vhong himself, who thinks that the “Breakout Crooner” should be the winner for this round if only he’s part of the jury. But kidding aside, Vhong is genuinely impressed by how he’s able to imitate his animated moves despite having a relatively larger build. Hosts Vhong and Jhong Hilario then invite the other celebrity performers to join them onstage, dancing together to “Totoy Bibo” together, recreating the viral social media trend.
Juror Gary Valenciano begins with a playful jab, joking that he didn’t enjoy his performance, which he quickly retracts by saying that what he had just done is completely unexpected because he exceeded all their expectaions. He praises Jarlo for not letting his dance moves overpower his vocals, even joking that he might be better than the original, which made everyone burst into laughter.
Sharon Cuneta, on the other hand, commends Jarlo for weaving just the right amount of comedy into his performance, making him appear not trying hard in imitating his icon. She adds that his performance not only entertained her but also impressed Vhong even more, earning her admiration for Jarlo a hundredfold.
And lastly, Ogie Alcasid regards Jarlo’s performance truly entertaining, teasing Vhong that he could now retire because Jarlo might just be a good replacement.
Before Jarlo joins his fellow celebrity performers on the couch, Vhong genuinely tells him, “Nakaka-proud ka.”
