The rollercoaster of 2025 has come to its final stop, and 2026 is now taking over, carrying forward the ongoing narrative of “What Lies Beneath” along with its star-studded cast.
In an exclusive interview about the seasons to expect in the upcoming new era, the cast of “What Lies Beneath” shared their favorites with smiles, more than ready to begin another year.
Starting with the show’s leading ladies, Kaila Estrada cites Halloween as a favorite seasonal event, enjoying the chance to dress up and embrace her playful side. She also treasures Christmas for its festive spirit and the opportunity to spend time with her family after a year of independent work.
Among the other MABEL ladies, Charlie Dizon, Sue Ramirez, and Janella Salvador all favor Christmas for its lively family gatherings. Sue also enjoys summer and New Year’s Day, cherishing the fresh start, new habits, and positive changes that come with January 1.
For the show’s controversial Martinez couple, Marlo Mortel and Mary Joy Apostol have their endearing ways. Marlo delights in summer as a perfect time to reflect or unwind in nature, but they both share a love for Christmas, a season full of family, friends, blessings, and love.
Mutya Orquia and Kolette Madelo, the trending pair from the authentic “women love women” storyline with their young characters, kept it short and sweet, naming Christmas and summer as their dearest holidays.
For the eye-catching young stars of the series, Krystal Mejes and Eliza Borromeo, they are clearly besties on and off screen, both choosing Christmas as a time to celebrate life’s best moments with their loved ones.
Leading the dashing actors of the show is Jameson Blake, who also picked Christmas as his special time to travel and visit family in Hong Kong, a tradition he has kept annually.
For the Santiago brothers of the series, the holiday is equally meaningful. JM de Guzman, Jake Cuenca, and Renshi de Guzman (who plays Jake’s younger version) all find Christmas closest to their hearts, which coincidentally falls near Jake’s birthday.
Adding to the festive charm of the best-loved season, Renshi shared how he loves the nostalgia of carolling and gift-giving, calling it a timeless joy. Meanwhile, Jake also mentioned New Year’s Day as a chance for new beginnings.
