After Pastor Samuel’s strong disapproval of young Liezel’s (Kolette Madelo) secret affair with Louisa (Mutya Orquia) and his ongoing threats concerning Louisa’s life and future, Liezel finally decided to end their relationship.
Believing she would just celebrate young Erica’s (Krystal Mejes) birthday before heading to Amurao’s terminal with Liezel, Louisa was left aghast when Liezel backed out of their plans.
Liezel avoided mentioning the truth about her sudden decision—which involved Pastor Samuel—and instead told Louisa that she might not be able to handle the uncertainty that awaited them outside Amurao. She explained that she wanted to graduate and finish her studies, something she believed she might not be able to do if she left home, and with this in mind, she stood firm.
Desperate, Louisa tried to convince her further, clinging to memories of their budding love. Even so, none of it swayed Liezel. She maintained that while falling in love was easy, real life could eventually tear them apart.
Although Liezel omitted her father’s intervention in her conversation with Louisa, Louisa sensed it nonetheless. Still, Liezel pressed on, leaving Louisa with more painful words—saying she did not want to risk her dreams for a relationship that might not even have a good ending.
Trying to hold onto a bit of hope, Louisa reasoned that they were only just beginning, but Liezel already seemed pessimistic about how their story would end. Resolute, Liezel admitted that her love for Louisa was not enough to gamble her future, adding that she feared she would find it unbearable to be continuously judged for loving another girl.Wanting to say more, Louisa failed to do so when young Angelo (Luis Vera Perez) arrived, leaving her even more heartbroken as she watched him and Liezel hold hands and head out on a date to celebrate their legal relationship—one blessed by Liezel’s father.
