It’s guaranteed to be another entertaining Tuesday with the latest episode of Melai Cantiveros’ ever-jolly show “Kuan On One,” this time warmly welcoming the viral Bisdak content creator Justine Luzares.
Justine, an eye-catching talent that even made the hearts of Melai’s staff flutter with his fine-looking visuals, became one of the most recognizable Filipino TikTok stars during the pandemic with his refined international accents, most especially perfecting the British one.
Other than that, the social media influencer added a fresh take to his already amusing mimicry of accents, making sure to use them creatively with some elements found in relatable Filipino culture, particularly embodied through his “chismosang marites,” or gossipy neighbor skits.
In the January 27 episode, “Kuan On One” revved up their “Dakong Problema” segment, modifying it into the “Alphabet Aktingan Challenge,” where both Melai and Justine excellently took part in acting impromptus and with only single letters to signal their on-the-spot dialogues.
The first scene immediately decorated Justine’s aura with well-deserved hype, as he immersed in the character of the penniless Marietta. He parallels Melai’s portrayal of the hot-headed Marilou, a town’s grocer that Marietta will inevitably clash with.
Throughout their smooth-sailing spontaneous conversation, their comedic styles evidently complemented each other in a “zebra meat vs. kangkong” feud.
For the second scenario, their short performance took place in a fictional luxury car shop with Justine playing the rich Maricar alongside Melai’s affluent conwoman Maricon. Together, the two effectively show-off their on-screen arrogance when attempting to buy expensive cars, with the comicalness highlighted through Maricar’s desire for an automatic umbrella.
The last spiel exuded pure romcom vibes, with Justine acting as Patrick and Melai personifying Melanie. In this storyline, Patrick endeavors to court Melanie’s best friend, but is keen on getting her approval first. Though, the twist unravels with Melanie actually hiding feelings for the love-struck Patrick.
Leading man feels naturally embrace Justine, as the final skit seemed like a reminiscence of his unforgettable and attractive male characters in his viral contents, such as the situationship with Dave, the handsome Grab rider and more. Melai then wrapped up their lines with a hilarious response of “Valiw na valiw sa’yo.”
After the acting challenge, Melai went on to express how proud she is of her fellow Bisdak influencer, and was excited to know about Justine’s hard work to provide his family with a comfortable life.
Justine shared that 2021 was the right moment for the making of their permanent home, as he had continuous projects and enough savings from his content creation. A big help to his achievements is his low maintenance lifestyle, which paved the path for him to purchase a house, car, tricycle, and hand monthly allowances to his family.
Satiating Melai’s curiosity about Justine’s fluent repertoire of accents, he revealed that he hasn’t travelled to international countries yet. Upon knowing this, Melai jests about someone sponsoring him.
Moving on to clarify his linguistic expertise, he mentioned how his iconic British impersonation was only a received pronunciation, derived from fictional series about British royalties.
When asked about his love life, Justine emphasized that he loves his life at the moment, making sure to prioritize his career and individuality. Though he does think of the magic of love in particular moments.
