The siege in La Playa Roja has ruined lives, revealed secrets, and ignited fury from everyone. But apart from the thrilling and emotional scenes are the friendships that the siege has strengthened---where bonds are tested by survival. One of these is Liam (Donny Pangilinan) and Luna's (Maymay Entrata) friendship.
As long-time friends, Liam and Luna share a strong bond that viewers admire. From their culinary school days to becoming chefs at La Playa Roja, the two have gone through many hardships that tested their connection---including the hostage-taking. Watch how Liam and Luna join forces to defeat the goons in their action-packed scenes in “Roja.”
1. Liam saves Luna
Luna’s life is at stake as she is held captive by the goons. Liam must complete his mission of finding Olsen (Kyle Echarri), and if he fails to do it within Emil’s (Joel Torre) given time limit, Luna will meet her end.
As the ticking bomb strapped to Liam reaches its limit, he hurls it away to prevent Luna from being killed. The explosion gives Luna a chance to escape from the goons, and she runs toward the shore. When Liam finally finds her, she is unconscious. He rushes to help her, and later on, Luna regains consciousness.
2. Luna to Liam: “Hindi na kita iiwan”
Luna thanks Liam for saving her life. After the explosion, Liam shares how difficult it was for him to fight for his life while searching for Olsen. Luna reassures him that he did well despite not being able to find him. “Alam ko namang kaya mo eh,” she says.
She then takes the chance to apologize to Liam, “Pasensya na ah, wala ako dun nung kailangan mo ako, pre… ‘di na kita iiwan.” With those words, she assures him that she will stand by his side to go against the goons.
3. Stealth Mode
Luna truly lives up to her promise to Liam as she helps him fight the armed men. After the explosion, the two form an alliance to search for the other victims’ whereabouts, all while carefully avoiding detection by the thugs. As Luna distracts the infiltrators, Liam grabs the chance to attack, and they both take them down.
Liam throws punches to defend himself, while Luna goes head-to-head with the other goons. The two best friends are seen stabbing, striking, and defeating their enemies.
4. Finding the traitor
As Liam and Luna attempt to rescue the staff held captive in the storage area, Liam shares his suspicions that there may be a mole among them---someone secretly working with Emil and his team. Luna apologizes for not believing him right away, but she threatens the staff, demanding that the traitor reveal themselves.
Liam tries to calm her down, but Luna, enraged, points her gun toward the group. The two begin to argue, yet Liam insists that even with a traitor in their midst, the safety of everyone must remain the priority. Luna stays determined, but once again, Liam stops her before things spiral further.
5. Save the staff
As Liam and Luna escape the premises with the staff, the goons chase after them and rain bullets, and both Liam and Luna quickly respond, shooting back at the armed men. Luna backs Liam up as he goes head-to-head with the attackers, and together they fight to escape.
Now that more secrets and dangers loom closer, Liam and Luna’s action-packed scenes are definitely among the highlights to watch out for in ”Roja.”
