At the Le Ciel resto, where Steve (Christian Ty) and his father, Laurence (Chris Tan), are supposed to have a dinner celebrating the birthday of Steve’s late mother, they soon fall under the vengeful plans of Edong (Jake Cuenca).
Unbeknownst to them, Edong infiltrates the place, restraining a staff member and taking the uniform to disguise himself. Moments later, he approaches Laurence and mercilessly slits his throat.
A brief silence follows until Lucas receives a call from Steve’s phone—only to be shocked when he hears the voice of Edong, whom he believed had died during the police’s last pursuit of him. Unbothered by the panic setting in, Edong slowly explains that he was saved for a reason: to protect his little brother, Lucas, from the people he surrounds himself with.
Hearing this, Lucas senses that Steve is no longer safe and desperately pleads with Edong not to hurt him. But it is already too late—Steve is dead.
Upon realizing the situation, Lucas—along with Erica (Kaila Estrada), whom he meets after dropping off evidence of Laurence’s syndicate operations—rushes to the scene of Edong’s crime. The moment they arrive, Steve’s lifeless body greets him, leaving him frozen in shock.
A flashback ensues, revealing the earlier events from Edong’s point of view. Steve attempts to run away, but Edong stops him and stabs him multiple times until his life withers away. The bodyguards try to chase Edong, but he cleverly creates more casualties to buy himself time to escape.
Back in the present, after speaking with the police, Erica and Lucas are about to go to their homes when Erica notices Lucas struggling, visibly traumatized. Unable to bear seeing him this way, she accompanies him to his unit, staying by his side as he breaks down and punches the wall until his knuckles bleed.
In his anguish, Lucas recalls the heartfelt friendship he shared with Steve, along with Edong’s haunting words—that he would fix Lucas’s mistakes, including surrounding himself with the wrong people.
