Following a wave of malicious allegations against the Guerreros, a throng of protesters clad in white, spearheaded by Congressman Leo Mojica (Rey Campanilla) and the councilors under Team Tanggol, assembled outside San Dimas to loudly voice their dissent and demanded the powerful family’s removal from city hall.
A group of police officers headed by Rigor (John Estrada) arrived at the scene to stop the demonstration and drive the crowd away. The current station commander of Quiapo tried to intimidate the protesters by berating them and accusing them of staging the rally without permit, but Cong. Leo and his allies remained unfazed and stood on their ground. Councilor Evelyn Dumlao (Tess Antonio) promptly handed them a copy of their permit, affirming their right to air their grievances against the present administration.
Cong. Leo and Rigor got into a scorching exchange, with the latter accusing the rallyists, particularly the leaders, of merely doing it to install Tanggol into office and advance their own interests. Without any hesitation, Cong. Leo countered that they were indeed fighting for Tanggol because they firmly believe that it was him who won the mayoralty race in the last elections. He went on to tag Rigor as a “tuta”, or a sycophant of the Guerreros, igniting the crowd to repeatedly echo the slur.
This, of course, enraged Rigor, declaring that he would never allow Tanggol to step into the city hall. He even arrogantly claimed that they should be grateful to rational people like him for shielding them from the destruction that he believed Tanggol might bring to Quiapo and the entire Manila if given power. Having known Rigor for years and witnessed almost everything that had happened in his life and family, Cong. Leo simply smirked and uttered a blunt “wow” and dismissively shooed him and his men away.
Elsewhere, Tindeng (Charo Santos) and Roda (Joel Lamangan) watched the unfolding events through a live newscast on her phone, which indeed filled them with hope as she thought that the bravery and unwavering stand of Cong. Leo for truth could inspire more people to rise and speak out.
However, Roda couldn’t shake her fear that the police might strike back at them by arresting them or red-tagging them following the rally. Tindeng reassured her that nobody could extinguish the fire in the hearts of the people anymore, as she believed that it would only burn brighter.
Despite being locked up inside their house, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) was also aware of the protest going on outside San Dimas. Since she was so helpless at the time, she turned to prayer and implored the Black Nazarene to continue guiding and protecting them, especially Tanggol. She couldn’t help but worry about his safety, more so once the Guerreros were ousted and her beloved firstborn assumed the mayoralty.
