With “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” entering a bolder, more explosive chapter, Aljur Abrenica is ready to deliver that extra punch of toughness into Tanggol (Coco Martin)'s story as one of the newest additions to the star-studded ensemble.
And the actor couldn’t be more grateful for being part of the project, saying, “Very excited ako sa mga makakatrabaho ko dito sa production na ito,” adding that being chosen to join such a successful series already feels like an achievement in itself.
This also marks his reunion with Coco, whom he first worked with in "FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano" in 2017. Aljur admitted this his admiration for the Primetime King’s body of work has only deepened over the years. “Ang lagi ko ngang tanong, ‘Paano niya nagagawa lahat?’ So, excited ako hindi lang sa makatrabaho siya kundi sa pagkakataon na matuto sa skills niya, sa work ethic niya.”
In a video uploaded by CCM Film Production on Instagram, Aljur also revealed he's putting in serious preparation to prove himself worthy of the role. "'Yung paghahanda is more on self-development," he shared. "At the same time, sa character. Para meron akong ma-contribute at maging kapakipakinabang ang presensiya ko dito sa show."
"'Yung makasama ka lang sa CCM Film Production at makasama ni Coco, eh malaki pong karangalan kaya nagpapsalamat ako," he added. "Coco, thank you!"
Viewers have already met Aljur as PLT. Hector Victorino, introduced during his first encounter with Rigor (John Estrada) at the police station. Plt. Victorino carries himself like a man who fears nothing and no one. So, viewers are now wondering, will he emerge as Tanggol’s friend or his foe?
