Since her support is all-out for Tanggol’s (Coco Martin) advocacy to lead Manila with utmost integrity and to stop the flow of illegal drugs in the city, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) attempts to talk this matter out with Ramon (Christopher de Leon).
She begs him to not push through with the transaction, reiterating that Tanggol is highly not in favor of his and Don Julio’s (Tommy Abuel) illegal drug trade, as well as asking him if he doesn’t feel guilty about ruining the lives of many people. Ramon insists that it has been their business for many decades already, so he would never let someone like her or Tanggol put an end to it.
Marites then asks him if he will let the business that has been making them rich drive a wedge between him and Tanggol, as well as reminds him that he must be the one to understand it since he’s the father.
However, Ramon claps back at her by saying that it’s her responsibility as a mother to tell their son to drop his arrogance and to explain to him that the funds used for his campaign all came from the same business he’s been trying to shut down.
Since he’s apparently unstoppable with his plan, Marites warns Ramon that she will go with Tanggol once he decides to step out of the mansion once he wins, as she accompanies and supports him in serving the people honestly. This enrages Ramon, so he reminds her of how he did everything just to take her away from her miserable life in San Dimas together with Rigor (John Estrada).
Marites clarifies to him that she doesn’t want to go back to Rigor anymore, but she’s just yearning for a peaceful life not tainted with drugs nor the kind that he and Don Julio have been forcing onto Tanggol. As he feels disrespected and disregarded by them, Ramon enjoins her to just forget whatever connection they have.
Tanggol witnesses their altercation and firmly tells Marites that even though the Montenegros will disown him, it’s totally fine with him since he’s eager to do whatever it takes to end the drug trade in Manila.
