Vacations—or maybe just escapes—set the tone for Episode 37 of "It’s Okay to Not Be Okay."
The episode opened with Vincent (Enchong Dee), who already lives by the shore but still went out of his way to stage his own “bakasyon” by inflating a pool by the beach just so he could catch Gemma (Kaori Oinuma)'s attention. Naturally, this didn’t sit well with his rival Jason (Francis Magundayao), who, while initially intimidated by Vincent’s perfectly sculpted physique, made it clear he wasn’t about to indulge his antics.
Meanwhile, Patrick (Joshua Garcia) and Mia (Anne Curtis) carried on with their Montanessa beach escapade, collecting new memories one spontaneous moment at a time. For Mia, the trip felt like a dream fulfilled as she's finally seeing Patrick loosen up and smile. Wishing to immortalize those fleeting smiles, she took photos and teased him, “Cute ka kapag ngumingiti ka,” making Patrick blush all the more. “Vacation mode” also defined Kai (Louise Abuel) and Bella (Bianca De Vera)'s reunion, though theirs came with a hint of defiance. Kai managed to sneak out of OK Hospital to meet Bella, who had just been pulled out of the facility by her parents after a traumatic run-in with her abusive ex-boyfriend who caused her trauma and deprression. Their escape eventually led them to the same beach resort where Patrick and Mia were staying.
When Patrick asked how he pulled it off, a scene revealed how Tommy (Bodjie Pascua) and Cynthia (Alora Sasam) helped Kai hide inside Doc Anok (Bobot Mortiz)’s van, knowing the doctor never locks his vehicle while inside the compound. Kai slipped out unnoticed when the doctor stopped at a store.
Though Patrick bristled with frustration at what the patients did, Kai stood his ground with unexpected resolve because, if anything, it was Patrick who emboldened him. Seeing how he fought for Mia against Bella’s ex gave Kai the courage to stop holding back his own feelings too. They wanted be together while they still could, before Bella leaves with her parents abroad. Mia, always with something up her sleeve, settled the room for the young couple, and theirs as well, forcing Patrick to stay overnight with her so someone could keep watch over the star-crossed lovers.
At OK Hospital, Olivia (Maricel Laxa)'s “secrets” just got even more intriguing as Samuel (Michael De Mesa) sensed a strange familiarity in her eyes while she, on the verge of tears, rejoiced at the thought that Samuel finally remembered her. She whispered that she had missed him dearly. Samuel cupped Olivia’s face, only for his hands to slip downward and wrap around her neck, repeating again and again that he should kill her because she was supposed to be long dead. Watching silently from the sidelines was Eden (Agot Isidro), who hoped Samuel would finish the job. Yet Samuel suddenly snapped back to his senses and pulled away, even apologizing for his behavior. Olivia, shaken yet strangely relieved, wept with a bittersweet joy, thankful that, if nothing else, he remembered her.
Later that night, Patrick grew restless and decided to call Matmat (Carlo Aquino). Just as he did that morning, he didn’t share every detail but neither did he lie, telling his brother that he ended up staying overnight to accompany a patient. He reminded Matmat about his nightly routine, to which Matmat replied there was nothing to worry about as he could take care of himself. The truth, however, was that he was carrying heavy feelings from an earlier dinner conversation, when Madeth (Xyriel Manabat) carelessly remarked that Patrick and Mia might be together since they both went missing at the same time.
Overhearing Patrick’s phone call with his brother, Mia quipped that she felt like a mistress being tucked away from a “legal wife.” Patrick only laughed it off and, instead, thanked her for giving Matmat the kind of friendship their late mother once wished he would find. Mia waved the thought aside and proposed they open the bottle of 'lambanog' given to them by the resort owner.
The liquor soon worked its magic, leaving Patrick woozy and sprawling onto the bed. With his guard lowered by alcohol’s blunt truth, he confessed that he felt happy being with Mia. She smiled at the fragile honesty and leaned into the flirty mood; she drew the curtains shut and slipped beside Patrick despite his protests.
Meanwhile, beneath the hush of night, Kai and Bella gazed at the sky, pondering who loved more—the moon or the stars. Kai said it must be the one who has stayed the longest, for to be that patient is to love the deepest.
