They might already be on opposite sides of the story now, but Teban (Bassilyo) and Kidlat (Smugglaz) apparently have still not forgotten their friendship with Santino (Ronwaldo Martin. This was after they let him and Erika (Gillian Vicencio) escape when they were able to catch them in an alley.
As they threatened to take Erika from him as per the order of her dad, Mayor Roberto Guerrero (Albert Martinez), to the Red Phoenix in exchange for money and their lives, Santino tried to gain their favor and mercy. He did it by tearfully reminding them of everything that they’d gone through together and of how he had been so loyal to Lucio (Ronnie Lazaro) only to betray him in the end, which he could also do to them.
Apart from pleading to them, Santino also put his gun down on the ground to prove to them that he couldn’t hurt them. Moved by his words and gestures, Teban and Kidlat pretended to shoot Santino and Erika, which they did to lure Lucio and other members of the Red Phoenix, and then told them to run away and save their lives.
Upon the arrival of Lucio and his faction at their location, Teban and Kidlat carried on with their pretense by acting as if they were really coming after the couple. Santino and Erika managed to escape by riding a taxicab, much to Lucio’s agitation.
