Jake Cuenca has been in the entertainment industry for more than a score. And throughout those years, he’s indeed able to showcase and prove how great and versatile an actor he is over and over again via his portrayals in the teleseryes and movies that he had starred in.

While we know how absolutely game and passionate he is to do everything for every role that he takes on, we still couldn’t help but be surprised with his performance as the cunning, manipulative, and vicious antagonist Miguelito Guerrero in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.” Arguably, many will agree that he has indeed brought his portrayal to a different level, leaving viewers astonished and in utter disbelief with the things he does as Miguelito.

As we look forward to seeing more, let us revisit the seven trending scenes of Jake as Miguelito in the hit primetime series in this episode of Kapamilya Update.

Let’s begin with that scene wherein Miguelito asked Fatima (Andrea Brillantes) to be his girlfriend in front of her family, her neighbors, and the press that he and his mother, Jackie (Angel Aquino), called to document the courtship they staged. After he succeeded in intimidating her and forcing her to agree to be in a fake relationship with him in order for the Guerrero family to maintain their spotless reputation with the public, Miguelito even requested a kiss on the lips from Fatima, to which she had no choice but to oblige.

He may appear tough, but Miguelito is just purely arrogant and conceited, which we were able to prove when Tanggol beat him up as he threw insults at him during their filing of candidacy for mayor of Manila City. Unfortunately for Miguelito, his haughtiness did nothing for him as Tanggol was able to knock him down.

While Team Tanggol depends on their competencies and integrity as public servants, their genuine benevolent deeds, and the organic love of the people for them, Miguelito and his team—which includes some of the members of his family—are just like some of the traditional politicians out there, who bank on putting up shows to attract attention and admiration from the people. Just like when Miguelito helped a woman who passed out during one of their campaign rallies, then heeded to their supporters’ request afterwards for him to dance as they cheered him on.

He did the same during Team Guerrero’s miting de avance, wherein he showcased his facet as a total performer by dancing with palpable and utmost enthusiasm to his campaign jingle. We might have seen Jake perform on ASAP or other live shows, as well as flaunt his fit physique on various runways, in the past, but watching him dance as vigorously as that was something we really didn’t expect him to do.

But what’s more disturbing is that Miguelito did that performance after he committed a heinous crime, which was the brutal murder of Tanggol’s younger brother, David (McCoy de Leon). Miguelito was obviously keen to finish him off, as he didn’t just fatally torture and stab him with the aid of his henchmen but also shot David in the chest, which led to his instant demise. He was supposed to shoot him again if only Fatima did not stop him.

And last, but definitely not the least, was when Miguelito engaged in a spontaneous intense gunfight with Santino (Ronwaldo Martin), while only wearing briefs! Well, it was understandable since he was really caught off guard at the time, and he didn’t have the chance anymore to put on his clothes or at least wrap his bottom with a towel. But it was a totally shocking sight for many audiences, for nobody really saw that coming!

Are we going to expect more astonishing scenes like these from Jake Cuenca? Let’s all find out by not missing an episode of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” weeknights at 8 PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, TV5 and iWant.
