Who needs a stunt double when you’ve got Jake Cuenca, who's ready to do anything for a scene—yup, even running around with a gun in briefs. Jake as Miguelito went 'bare and bold' when his character had to deal with an intruder while wearing nothing but his underwear.
"FPJ's Batang Quiapo" cooked up yet another trending episode (aired July 22) as Tanggol (Coco Martin) discovered the earth-shattering truth that he's also a Guerrero by blood.
Elsewhere, Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) finally snapped out of his misplaced anger after learning that it wasn’t Tanggol who murdered their brother David (McCoy de Leon), but Miguelito, as revealed by the crime’s sole witness, Fatima (Andrea Brillantes).
Fueled by rage and a need for justice, Santino barged into the Guerrero mansion to take Miguelito down. And making it far from your usual action confrontation, the scene showed Miguelito already winding down for the night, dressed down to just his boxer briefs, when he sensed an intruder had crashed into his room. It was followed by a nail-biting shootout and chase, with Jake sprinting through the house in his underwear, gun in hand.
"Saludo kami sa’yo, Jake Cuenca," read the caption from CCM Film Productions, which shared behind-the-scenes photos on their Instagram page. The snaps revealed just how professional and game Jake was. No fuss. Just pure commitment to what the scene required.
Then again, why would he be shy when he’s got a set of well-chiseled abs worth showing off?
CCM Film Productions also share a behind-the-scenes video that show how the sequences were carefully choreographed, from actor blocking to camera movements, with Jake moving through each take without complaints and no shortcuts. In one sequence, he's even seen doing push-ups in nothing but his briefs. Of course, the crew made sure to protect and look after Jake between takes; someone would immediately hand him a towel after each scene to keep him covered up.
It also captured the moment where Santino and Erika (Gillian Vicencio) crossed paths inside the Guerrero mansion, with Erika helping Santino escape just in time.
