That night, Patrick (Joshua Garcia) struggles to sleep as Mang Dipong’s words echo in his mind, especially the old man’s claim that his and Matmat (Carlo Aquino)'s mother was murdered on the night she reported for work at the Hernandez mansion, and not mugged by robbers as previous reports say.
Patrick recalls that fateful evening when he and Matmat discovered their mother’s lifeless body, bloodied and sprawled on the ground as heavy rain poured down. He turns restlessly in bed, glances at his brother sleeping soundly beside him and whispers to himself that if Mia (Anne Curtis)'s mother were still alive, she might be the only one who could answer his questions about his mother’s death. Unbeknownst to him, Mang Dipong is outside the mansion, watching and muttering that he will wait for Ingrid’s return.
That same night, Mia is tormented by a nightmare of her past. In her dream, her younger self sits as her mother Ingrid brushes her hair. Ingrid retells the story of “Blue Beard,” about a rich man who kills his wives for disobeying him, and warns that defiance only leads to danger. Growing angry, Ingrid accuses Mia of being disobedient by bringing in ‘that boy’ into their house and vows to kill any prince who dares to rescue her. Mia’s eyes suddenly open and sees a woman in black floating before her.
Terrified, Mia screams, waking Patrick, who rushes into her room and holds her in his arms to calm her down. But Mia insists that he leave at once, terrified that the ‘woman’ will kill him.
