Matmat (Carlo Aquino) hums while working on his painting at OK Hospital, in the mood as he recreates the scenic view that Doc Anok (Bobot Mortiz) had earlier asked him to capture. Doc Anok arrives and praises the piece, prompting Matmat to casually remark that he does his best work when there are no distractions.
Doc Anok smiles at Matmat’s confidence, but seemingly wanting to test him, points out that something seems to be missing in the painting—a butterfly to go with the flowers. This makes Matmat defensive as he insists that there’s no need for a butterfly since he didn’t see one in the view he used as reference.
Pushing him further, Doc Anok asks if there truly was none or if he simply didn’t want to include it. Matmat explains that he doesn’t want to add a butterfly and that it should be his decision since he’s the one painting. As he keeps repeating his refusal over the butterfly, Doc Anok begins to notice how uneasy and fidgety he has suddenly become.
