Alex (Christian Vasquez), a patient diagnosed with anxiety disorder, was rushed to St. Benedict Hospital after overdosing on alprazolam in what appeared to be a suicide attempt. Assigned nurse Patrick (Joshua Garcia) learned that Alex had also tried to make his young daughter Mona (Briseis Quijano) take the pills, suggesting a planned double suicide. While Alex was kept under close observation in the psychiatric ward, Mona was being looked after separately for possible PTSD.
Alex managed to escape the ward and went searching for his daughter, eventually tracking her down at the hospital auditorium where a story-reading event led by Mia Hernandez (Anne Curtis) was underway.
Mia stepped in when she caught Alex and Mona backstage, overhearing the father telling his daughter they would go through with their plan to die together. The conversation triggered Mia’s anger, and a confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight. Patrick arrived just in time to pull Alex off and restrain him, but as things calmed, Mia picked up her knife and attempted to stab Alex. Patrick blocked her, his bare hands catching the blade.
Vincent (Enchong Dee), Mia’s manager, worried that the whole incident would turn into a full-blown scandal, especially if word spreads that Mia had actually tried to stab someone and that a nurse ended up injured because of it.
Confident that she always gets her way, Mia marched straight to the hospital’s head and demanded that Patrick be terminated, threatening to drag the hospital’s name into the mess if they wouldn't act quickly.
Not long after, Patrick was called in and fired on the spot. The head doctor made it appear procedural, saying maybe Patrick lost control handling the patient. The doctor pointed out that Patrick had been moving from one hospital to another almost every year, and hinted that it might be because of his attitude. He even suggested that Patrick’s temper could be the reason, but Patrick knew that wasn’t true.
