Charlie Fleming and Esnyr, the first duo to secure a Big Four spot in "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition," were gifted a heartwarming surprise in the June 25 episode as their parents paid a visit to Bahay ni Kuya.
In the Confession Room, Charlie's mother, Mommy Flong, shared how proud she is of Charlie’s maturity, saying that she raised her daughter to see the real world as it is without sugarcoating life’s challenges.
And as soon as Mommy Flong walked through the doors bringing Charlie's favorite katsu curry, the 'bunso' housemate couldn’t help but scream in delight before running straight into her mother’s arms in a reunion that felt really special as Charlie introduced her mom to her friends, all of whom were quick to feel at ease with Mommy Flong’s warm and 'bagets' personality. "It made me feel really close to home, with Mama and her cooking," said Charlie, who couldn't get enough of the food her mom lovingly prepared and brought for her.
Charlie's duo partner, Esnyr, also had his long-awaited reunion with his father, Daddy Jhun, who brought his favorite dish as well. But beyond the meal, what mattered most was the rare chance for a heart-to-heart conversation between the father and son, given their "conflict" which Esnyr had previously shared with the housemates.
To recall, during a task led by houseguest Michelle Dee, Esnyr opened up about the painful rift that had long existed between him and his father due to financial struggles, misunderstandings, and the pressure he felt as the family’s unexpected provider. He spoke then of how difficult it was to feel distant from his dad.
This visit gave them the opportunity to share a healing conversation, where Daddy Jhun told Esnyr he should never feel guilty for telling their story, and admitted his own failures, acknowledging how work and life’s challenges had kept him from expressing his love the way a father should. He apologized for the pain he caused, for moments of selfishness that kept him from being open to his son, and for all his shortcomings.
"Sorry din sa'yo. Alam namin may mga times na may mga gusto ka, na nagpapabili ka, pero tyempong walang budget. Gustuhin man namin pero walang ibang means na maibigay namin kung anong gusto mo," Daddy Jhun spoke to Esnyr in Bisaya. "Dapat talaga as a parent, kung kakayanin, ibibigay ang gusto ng mga anak."
Daddy Jhun also reassured Esnyr that he has nothing to worry about regarding what he shared on national TV, including how he felt hurt when his father said harsh words after he failed to reply to one of his messages asking for monthly allowance, because those honest words were what opened Daddy Jhun's eyes to the mistakes he had made as a father. "Naging challenge ito para sa akin na may pagkukulang ako, na hindi dapat ganito ang pakitungo ko sa mga anak ko, na ganito ang pagtrato ko para hindi ka magkimkim ng sama ng loob sa akin," he said.
After sharing these heartfelt moments, both parents bid farewell to their children and the other housemates.
