As much as we all want a smooth-sailing love story with a happy ending, things don’t always go as planned, especially when a third party enters the picture. These characters cause drama, wreak havoc on relationships, and leave heartbreak and chaos in their wake.
Let’s take a look back at some of the most hated ‘snakes’ in Kapamilya teleseryes—the ones who made falling in love a total nightmare.
Lena (FPJ's Batang Quiapo)
This woman didn’t just steal a man; she slithered right into his family home, made herself comfortable and acted like she was the real queen of the Dimaguiba household. Besides seduction, Lena (Mercedes Cabral) also mastered the art of deception.
She was the type to hiss sweetly in Rigor (John Estrada)'s ear, whispering poison into his mind to turn him against his own wife and family, all so she could be his one and only.
Alex and Juliana (Linlang The Teleserye Version)
Alex (JM de Guzman) and Juliana (Kim Chiu) were strongly noxious as they didn't just cheat on their spouses but they shattered lies without a second thought.
Juliana took betrayal to another level by having an affair with her husband Victor (Paulo Avelino)’s own half-brother, Alex. She proved she had no limits when she ruined Victor’s reputation just to dodge the adultery case he filed against her. And instead of owning up to her filth, she made sure the world saw Victor as the villain while she played the victim. Meanwhile, Alex took the life of his own wife, Sylvia (Kaila Estrada), to cover his tracks. These two were full-blown pythons, crushing everything in their path just to get their way.
Jade (Halik)
What made “Halik” stand out as a teleserye was how it flipped the script, with the husband, Lino (Jericho Rosales), on the receiving end of betrayal. In a sea of teleseryes where men were usually the cheaters, “Halik” gave viewers a fresh yet infuriating perspective of a devoted husband blindsided by his wife’s affair. Jade (Yam Concepcion) snaked into Ace (Sam Milby) and Jacky’s (Yen Santos) union, only to let Ace do the same to hers with Lino.
It was a mess of tangled love web, but Jade’s shamelessness took the crown. Her venom was so deadly that Yam herself got flooded with intense hate messages from viewers deeply despising her character in real life.
Janine (Two Wives)
Janine, who crept right into Victor’s (Jason Abalos) relationship with Yvonne (Kaye Abad), was so despised that Erich Gonzales, who played her, received death threats and was even cursed at by furious viewers who just couldn't stand her character’s snaky ways. In the story, Janine, a single mom, developed a special bond with Victor, who was working at her flower farm, when she hired him to pretend as the father of her daughter. But of course, the act didn’t stay pretend for long.

Nicole (Maja Salvador) in “The Legal Wife” was the OG ‘besss’ you should never trust, because while she was hyping Monica (Angel Locsin) up as a bestie, she was also groveling her way into her marriage. She knew what she was doing. She knew the damage it would cause. And yet, she was ready to become a ‘kabit’ just for Adrian (Jericho Rosales). As they say, the one who calls you ‘besss’ might just be the biggest snake in the room.
Jia (Love Thy Woman)
Jia (Kim Chiu) in “Love Thy Woman” took betrayal to a whole new level—because if getting stabbed in the back by a bestfriend hurts, imagine finding out the snake who bit you is your own sister. Jia and her brother-in-law, David (Xian Lim), caught feelings and got involved in an affair while his wife, her sister, Dana (Yam Concepcion) was in a coma after a road crash.
