Daniel Padilla had definitely swept us off our feet with his teeny-bopper and pa-kilig roles in the previous teleseryes that he starred in. And now, he continues to capture our hearts via his impressive dramatic chops and flair in action as he portrays the tough and courageous yet sympathetic ex-Scout Ranger named Andres Malvar in the highly talked-about ABS-CBN Studios series, “Incognito.”

And just three weeks since it premiered in the latter part of January, Daniel has already astounded us with his remarkable performances in every scene he’s in, such as the ones that we’ve featured in this edition of Friday 5.

Just on the pilot episode, he immediately got us mind-blown when his character, Andres, singlehandedly toppled down a group of rascals who were harassing a female passenger (Andi Abaya) inside a train. Even though they tried to gang up on him by throwing punches and kicks left and right, as well as stabbing him in the waist with a balisong, they still had no match for him. He managed to knock them all down and return to his seat—heavily bruised and bloodied—as if nothing happened.

But prior to that, we learned that Andres actually got incarcerated in the past due to his involvement in the riot that transpired between his townsfolk and the authorities and henchmen of the Manalastas family, who usurped their farmland. This led to his dismissal from the armed forces and imprisonment, with the notorious Manalastas family attempting to finish him off by hiring some of his fellow inmates to murder him. Fortunately, he was alert and agile enough to stop them, as well as force them to ‘fess up about who the mastermind was.

Despite what the wicked family did to him and his family and tribesmen, Andres still chose diplomacy when its scion, Emil (Polo Ravales), confronted him along with his minions. However, Emil was really eager to kill Andres after he allegedly murdered his cousin, so he ordered his henchmen to mob him, and an intense fisticuff ensued between them. As Emil was about to shoot him, the mighty trio of Greg (Ian Veneracion), JB (Richard Gutierrez), and Miguel (Baron Geisler) arrived to help him and offered him to be part of their group.

He might be hesitant at first, but Andres was eventually convinced to join them. And from hand-to-hand combat, we’ve eventually witnessed Daniel’s flair in doing stunts and handling guns and other deadly weapons, especially when they finally carried out their plans to fulfill their mission of exposing and capturing the notorious Escalera clan.

And even before they’re able to get ahold of Timor Escalera’s (Art Acuna) unico hijo, Donato (Elijah Canlas), in their pursuit of saving kidnap victim Takako Rai (Belle Mariano), Team Incognito already went through a series of tough and thrilling skirmishes, in which Daniel was able to showcase not only his strength, knowledge, and tenacity, but also his skills in handling guns and other weapons.

Indeed, Daniel is able to prove in this series that being an action star and dramatic actor runs in his blood! Are you as excited as us to see more of him in action? Well, don’t ever dare miss an episode of “Incognito,” weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
