From blowing our minds and touching our hearts with their spot-on performances in the previous rounds of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” the talented and dynamic duo of JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano (a.k.a. JMielle) once again won over with their transformation to Hollywood superstars Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj as they performed their hit song “Beauty and A Beat” for Week 13.
Keeping in mind the pointers that vocal and movement coaches Klarisse de Guzman and Nyoy Volante had imparted to them during their training sessions, JMielle totally amazed us anew with how they pulled off their dance-driven number.
Both of them instantly astonished everyone as soon as they stepped out of the “iconator,” with JM showing off his hidden dancing skills and his falsettos as he impersonated the teenage Justin, and Marielle impressing us with her rapping prowess as Nicki, which made jurors Sharon Cuneta and Erik Santos stand up from their seats.
They may not have had any kilig moments during their performance but hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario made sure that JMielle wouldn’t leave the stage without stirring everyone up. They had them take on an exciting challenge, in which JMielle copied the poses of Justin and Nicki in the couple photos flashed on the LED screen, which JMielle enthusiastically did out of love for their fans and “Your Face Sounds Familiar” family.
Since their icons were completely far from the kind of performers that people had known them to be, the members of the jury were all astounded by how they were able to pull off their performance. Thus, it made them wonder which performance they cannot do because they’re able to prove once again how versatile both of them are.
