As the housemates continued their 9th weekly task, they were given the chance to receive gifts from their loved ones. In the December 24 episode of "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0," housemate Ashley Sarmiento couldn’t believe she was holding her mom Mommy Jovel’s hand again, let alone when Big Brother gave the signal that they could finally see each other face to face.
She jumped up and down with excitement, and unlike the other housemates whose reunions with their gift-givers were full of tears, Ashley ended up laughing and sharing light moments with her mom. But when her mom Lorie told her she’s been praying for her to stay strong, Ashley burst into tears and cried like a little child, "Hindi ko na nga kaya maging strong, eh! Ang hirap."
"Feeling ko po bata ulit ako na nagsusumbong sa Nanay ko," Ashley later told Kuya in the confession room. Her mom’s gift was a lipstick, which she appreciated, but she said she didn’t really need anything material—just seeing her mom in the flesh was already a beautiful gift for her.
