Bianca de Vera is finally stepping into the spotlight! In her first big-screen lead role, she plays the bold and sassy Savannah Aquino in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry “Love You So BadSavannah’s love life becomes complicated as she navigates her feelings between Vic (Will Ashley) and LA (Dustin Yu) --- and Bianca spills more tea in the December 19 episode of Kapamilya Chat.

On her first lead role in “Love You So Bad”

Bianca couldn’t hide her kilig as she marked her MMFF debut, calling it a childhood dream come true. Working with Director Mae Cruz-Alviar made it even more special, especially since “Love You So Bad” is an ABS-CBN and GMA collaboration film. “Napakalaking blessing na maging isang leading lady ako ng Star Cinema,” she gushed.

Looking back on the first time she heard about the movie, Bianca shared that when she was asked to see Kriz Gazmen, Head of Star Cinema, she initially thought she was in trouble when she was called to talk about something important. Upon hearing the news that she would star as a leading lady, she cried, hugged him, and promised to do everything to make them proud. She described the moment as one of her core memories.

Bianca as Savannah: “Unapologetic and outgoing”

On how she prepared for the role of Savannah, Bianca explained that Star Cinema provided extensive workshops to prepare her, Will Ashley, and Dustin Yu for their roles. She recalled attending sessions in different groupings---sometimes with one co-star, sometimes with both. Bianca also expressed her admiration for Will Ashley’s determination to continue learning despite his years of experience in the industry.

Bianca gave us a peek into Savannah’s world, describing her as “very kalog, very extroverted, outgoing, unapologetic.” In fact, she laughed, “Para siyang ako pero times 10,” For Bianca, Savannah stands out from the typical leading ladies she grew up watching.

For Bianca, “Love You So Bad” is a roller-coaster of emotions. While the film has its share of romantic moments, it also carries deeper feelings, and she encouraged the audiences to prepare tissues when they watch.

From Bahay ni Kuya to the big screen

The Kapamilya star previously shared the journey with Will Ashley and Dustin Yu in “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition.” Reflecting on their growth, “Ang dami kong na-discover sa kanila.” Bianca said. She expressed appreciation of seeing them transition from housemates to co-actors in a film.

Bianca first met Dustin inside Bahay ni Kuya, where she got to know him simply as Dustin himself. Meanwhile, her connection with Will began pre-"PBB” days through the series “Unbreak My Heart,” giving her a glimpse of him both as a person and as an actor. Their bond deepened further when they all entered the “PBB” house, sharing experiences as housemates that built their foundation.

Stepping into the outside world, however, Bianca noted that working together was different, which allowed her to discover new sides of them. She was particularly struck by Dustin’s determination as an actor, emphasizing that the negative perceptions others may have of him are not true at all. In fact, she firmly defended him, “Sobrang galing ni Dustin, he's so good. Ang ganda ng mata.”

Meanwhile, Bianca described Will Ashley as a great actor, noting that she has long admired his versatility. “I’ve always been a fan of his work, I’ve always admired how far his range could go. And in this movie, nakita ko lang din kung gaano pa kalayo ang kayang-kaya niyang gawin,” she said.

Bianca's love for her craft

Bianca reflected on the blessings and support she has received, saying she chooses to take in each moment. “I just really take in the moment. Gusto kong bumagal lahat, I just let the feelings linger,” she explained, noting that she is enjoying her journey and her love for her craft.

Christmas will be extra special for Bianca this year. Bianca said that having the movie feels like a family reunion, as her loved ones plan to spend Christmas watching “Love You So Bad” in theaters altogether. It is very meaningful for her that they get to watch her shine on the big screen.

Don't miss Bianca's lead role debut in the movie “Love You So Bad,” an official entry to the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival, showing in cinemas starting December 25.
