We may have gone through various adversities, challenges, and battles in 2025 that may have taken a toll on us, yet we are always being reminded that the real essence and true reason of this Christmas season is none other than “love.”
While love has different kinds and ways of being shown, one of our favorites is arguably the romantic ones—just like what some of our favorite loveteams, onscreen pairs, and real-life couples have demonstrated not just in the TV shows and movies they’d starred in, but also during their appearance in the second part of “Love, Joy, Hope: The ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2025” aired on Sunday, December 14.
The kilig tandems segment commenced with the solo song number of Paulo Avelino singing Parokya ni Edgar’s “Halaga.” Halfway through the song, he called in the other half of the KimPau loveteam and his co-star in the Prime Video series “The Alibi”—Kim Chiu. Together, they made everyone shriek with their oozing chemistry as they performed a duet of “Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko” by Cup of Joe and did some gestures onstage that truly made the butterflies in our stomachs aflutter.
KimPau then had amusing and kilig banter as they thanked everyone who has been watching their latest acting project and ushered in the slew of other Kapamilya loveteams who tickled us with their duets of various classic OPM love songs.
The supporters of Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada (KDLex) were thrilled to see them together again as they initiated the singing of “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal.” They were joined by JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith (JMFyang) and Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin (FranSeth), who all looked lovely in their powder pink and powder blue ensembles.
Five years after working together in the 2020 Kapamilya drama series “Walang Hanggang Paalam,” Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban delighted viewers when they appeared together on the stage of the “ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2025,” singing “Dahil Mahal Kita.” Real-life couple Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola accompanied them afterwards, giving everybody genuine kilig, especially when they kissed in the end.
Their team-up might be relatively new, but “Roja” stars Kyle Echarri and Kai Montinola have already captured our hearts with their impressive chemistry, as attested by the wild reactions of the live audience when they sang “Paniwalaan Mo” together.
Last, but definitely not the least, were Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, who made the DonBelle shippers happy via their duet of “Ikaw Lang Ang Aking Mahal.”
