Aside from going through the cases assigned to her, as well as her personal missions of resolving the case of her stepsister, Dimples (Criza Taa), and of helping Tanggol (Coco Martin) in his pursuit against the Guerreros, Patrolwoman Paula “Ponggay” Garcia (Maris Racal) had taken on another responsibility upon her shoulders—to become a close-in security of Mayor Miguelito Guerrero (Jake Cuenca).

The move was after Miguelito spotted her at the police station during his and Vice Mayor Roberto’s (Albert Martinez) most recent visit and apparently got smitten by her beauty. Thus, for him to be able to get close to her, he offered her a job to be part of his security detail—despite already having a lot of minions surrounding him.

Sensing that the politician had ulterior motives in doing so, Ponggay was hesitant at first to accept it, with her colleague-cum-best friend Patrolwoman Chona Vasquez (Via Antonio) urging her as well to turn down the offer. However, she eventually decided to take it but on one condition: Chona must be hired as well. Determined to have her close to him, Miguelito agreed to it and told them to start as soon as possible.

And since it was the city mayor who asked for it, their papers were immediately processed, and they were able to report for their new duty the following day. As they arrived at the Guerrero mansion, they were stunned to see a lot of bodyguards, which made them wonder about the real motive of Miguelito in getting additional close-in security officers.

Aside from that observation, what struck them more was witnessing the Guerreros arguing with one another over the deaths of the five recipients of the expired relief goods they’d donated, to which Miguelito reacted with utmost ridicule, arrogance, and entitlement—much to Ponggay and Chona’s shock and dismay.

As we look forward to seeing how they’re going to fare in their new assignment, CCM Film Productions has provided us a peek at what usually happens off cam.

Taking a break from her onscreen duties as a budding police officer, Via gave us a quick tour around the Guerrero mansion, showing us some of the luxurious furnishings that can be found in the living and dining areas where most of the scenes are shot.

She then went downstairs to their standby area and chatted with Maris in one of the dressing rooms. When asked by Via about her comment regarding the Guerrero mansion, Maris quipped about how it smelled like corned beef and how sumptuous the food there was. However, she couldn’t help but notice as Ponggay how seemingly sketchy the people living there are.

Now that they have already infiltrated the den of the Guerreros, Via asked her what the plans of Ponggay are going to be, to which Maris replied, “Titingnan ko kung ano ang mga anomalya na nangyayari rito sa loob ng bahay, tapos titingnan ko kung masamang mga tao ba sila.”

But it seemed that being given dried mangoes by Miguelito might have already changed Ponggay’s perception of the Guerreros, as the gesture had swayed her to believe that the Guerreros are actually kind. So, in order to prove this herself, Via and Maris went to the next room where Jake and Dante Rivero, who plays Don Gustavo, were staying to ask for dried mangoes.

Via then proceeded to another room where Paolo Paraiso, who portrays Miguelito’s most trusted right-hand man Jason, was chilling. She asked for his reaction regarding the presence of Ponggay and Chona, to which he playfully responded that Jason actually doesn’t like them to be there because he believes that Miguelito is his.

Kidding aside, Paolo said that as his right-hand man, Jason is actually just supportive of every decision that Miguelito makes. Despite the presence of his two new female close-in security, he doesn’t think that he would be fired from his job because he highly believes that Miguelito needs him as his most trusted wingman, especially in carrying out their “hidden agenda” of taking Ponggay in his hands.

Since that’s the case, Via vowed that Chona would protect Ponggay from Miguelito and Jason’s ulterior motives, while Paolo reminded her and everyone that his character is definitely there to stay for his boss.

Will Ponggay be able to fulfill her promise to Tanggol of helping him carry out his mission against the Guerreros? Let’s find out in the coming episodes of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” weeknights at 8 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
