One of today’s most loved OPM artists, Moira Dela Torre is known for her heartfelt songs and unique, relaxing voice. On “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” several performers transformed into the singer-songwriter--capturing her soft vocals, emotional delivery, and signature style.
Let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable Moira Dela Torre transformations by the celebrity ka-Familiars on the reality competition that wowed the judges and touched the audience.
Marco Masa (YFSF Kids Season 2, 2018) – Titibo-tibo
Starting off with a sweet take on Moira, Marco Masa performed her hit “Tibo-tibo”--the song that won “Himig Handog 2017” and was later included in Moira’s debut album “Malaya” released in 2018.
Marco’s transformation won hearts and smiles. From the hair, makeup, and Moira’s little nuances, his performance perfectly embodied her style and surprised viewers. Judge Gary Valenciano was impressed, noting that Moira’s voice is relaxed and calm--different from modern-day singers who are biriteras. Marco did great in copying her voice, “I have to put my hands together for you, because you did an excellent job.”
Meanwhile, Judge Ogie Alcasid praised him as a good artist, even saying Marco resembled actress Carmina Villarroel in his transformation. He commended him for singing live, giving him a double clap and two thumbs up for his effort.
Judge Sharon Cuneta pointed out that “Titibo-tibo” is not an easy song to sing, especially since Marco was impersonating someone of the opposite gender. She admired how he captured Moira’s subtle nuances without missing a beat.
Marco placed 8th at the end of the season.
Lie Reposposa (YFSF Season 3, 2021) – “Titibo-tibo"
Performing the same song, Lie Reposposa nailed the thickness and softness of Moira’s voice. The judges smiled as they admired her performance, while fellow ka-Familiars clapped along. Afterward, Lie even gave a mini sample of Moira’s viral hit “Paubaya.”
Judge Ogie admitted that he truly heard Moira in Lie’s voice, saying she excites him for future performances. Following this, Judge Sharon was moved to tears, sharing that she has always been a fan of Moira “Napakahirap nung ginawa mo… you had to shrink yourself to be quiet but powerful [like Moira].” Judge Gary capped it off by telling Lie touched hearts with her performance, “Congratulations for an excellent job.”
Lie placed 2nd at the end of the season.
Lucas Garcia (YFSF Season 3, 2021) – “Paalam" with Matty Juniosa and Enzo Almario of iDolls
A song about heartbreak and goodbyes, the iDolls delivered an emotional performance of Moira and Ben&Ben’s “Paalam,” released in 2020 from Moira’s second studio album “Patawad.”
Lucas Garcia, who transformed into Moira, was praised not just for his vocals but also for his visuals. His high notes as Moira were perfectly hit, blending seamlessly with Matty Juniosa as Paolo Benjamin and Enzo Almario as Miguel Benjamin of OPM band Ben&Ben. The group admitted they felt pressured upon learning they would impersonate OPM icons. Lucas shared that this was his favorite performance yet among all their transformations that season.
Judge Sharon gave them a standing ovation, saying Moira and Ben&Ben were her favorites and that the trio did an excellent job transforming into them. Moreover, Judge Ogie praised their vocals, “It was just spectacular, ang sarap sa tenga.” Thirdly, Judge Gary added that their performance touched his heart, praising Lucas, “’Yung boses mo ay talagang napaka-flexible. It became the standout.”
iDolls placed 4th at the end of the season.
Rufa Mae Quinto (YFSF Season 4, 2025) – “Paubaya"
Known as everyone’s happy pill, Rufa Mae switched gears into a serious and quiet side as she transformed into Moira Dela Torre, performing her hit classic “Paubaya,” from the album “Paubaya (Deluxe Edition)” released in 2020.
The judges smiled throughout her performance. She even hit Moira’s high notes while still showing her fun personality, bantering with the hosts but keeping Moira’s soft aura. Judge Sharon praised her for sticking to Moira’s character, which is very different from her usual quirky self “Kitang-kita ‘yung effort mo, ‘yung control, so that’s a big thing. That was so nice.”
Mentor Nyoy Volante said this was his favorite among Rufa Mae’s transformations, “Pati ‘yung smize, malumanay, and ‘yung boses medyo nakukuha mo din talaga. This was your best one.” He also noted her styling and makeup were very Moira-like. Another mentor Klarisse de Guzman praised her for following tips and suggestions during coaching. Finally, Judge Ogie was shocked at how well she did, calling her a true crowd-pleaser who put smiles on viewers’ faces as she stepped on stage.
From heartfelt vocals to subtle nuances, each transformation showed the impact of Moira Dela Torre's artistry that left audiences with lasting impressions. Her influence shines through, proving her songs will always have a place on stage.
