Alone and trying to recuperate from the pain of young Edong’s (Renshi de Guzman) imprisonment, young Lucas (Andrez del Rosario) comes across a group of workers resting on the beach and conversing about Ether’s awful situation (Malou Crisologo).
The workers believed that the cause of Esther’s beaten condition and hospitalization was her tragic encounter with a hostile robber on the way to the local bank—supposedly to deposit the funds collected from her alumni batch.
Given Esther’s standing as one of Amurao’s most devout individuals, it was also widely thought that the money was intended for the local church’s renovation. Upon hearing the speculation, Lucas went searching for Esther after the night mass, outside of the church.
His desperation explodes as soon as he sees Esther, and he begs her to reconsider the testimony after insisting that she might be mistaken about Edong as Louisa’s (Mutya Orquia) murderer.
Despite his grief, Esther doesn’t waver from her convictions and simply asks Lucas to pray for himself and Edong, making them feel guilty before pushing him away.
Beth’s restlessness peaks as events collide
In disbelief, Beth (Charlie Dizon) lightly scolds her daughter, Chloe (Jewel Milag), for the video she recorded during the time she and Joshua (Lawrence dela Cruz) got chased by Edong (Jake Cuenca).
Reviewing the video a second time, Beth attempts to arrive at an understanding of the present-day circumstances that happened simultaneously in Amurao.
She recalls Chloe and Joshua’s banter regarding the suspect’s appearance, Mel’s (Sue Ramirez) reaction to Erica’s speculations about the Santiago brothers, the police’s forensic sketch, and Alice’s (Janella Salvador) account about the intruder who attacked her house.
In a frantic state, Beth heads out to go to the police station, where she presses the officers to urgently investigate the CCTV footage from Alice’s home—completely indifferent to Locsin’s argument concerning the altercation that broke out when arresting a suspect earlier.
A few hours later, Beth gives Alice a call to update her on the situation and then suggests that they both watch the security footage.
Alice receives counsel from her Uncle Edward
After finding a trembling Alice (Janella Salvador) inside a shooting range, Edward (Joel Molina) takes care of her at home with his wife, Christina.
He mentions to Alice that her mother, Susan (Carlene Aguilar), called earlier to tell him about Alice fleeing from her husband, Scott (Mark Neumann). Concerned, he asks Alice if she has ever been abused.
Without responding in detail, Alice instead starts recounting the ongoing dispute between her and Scott, particularly with his possible infidelity. She vividly recalls the fact that Scott's family has never been fond of her and the times when Scott would firmly grab her—until one moment when he pushed Alice with such force that a vase broke.
As Alice’s resurfacing memories come to a close, she thinks about the incident wherein she demanded a divorce from Scott, who in turn threatened to take full custody of Seth (Rhys Stevens).
After hearing Alice’s narrative, Edward questions if she really believes that Scott would intentionally hurt her, along with his alleged affair. In tears, Alice pleads with her uncle to believe her, stressing how Scott might have gotten impatient to bring Seth with him.
Edward, who is still skeptical, challenges Alice’s assertion, saying that if it were true, the intruder’s actions would not be consistent with the intention of taking Seth away.
Christina asks for Edward just as Alice is beginning to contemplate. In a poignant turn of events, Christina only remembers Alice when she was sixteen.
After putting Christina to sleep, Edward leaves Alice with a heartfelt reminder about her relationship with Scott, particularly wishing her to be completely certain before ending their marriage.
Mel chooses to live through her marriage once more
After Mel (Sue Ramirez) passes out during an interview at the Grace & Glam fashion show, she awakens to find Anton (Jameson Blake) once again putting on his sympathetic exterior.
Angered, she demands that Anton leave her alone, but he explains that he wasn’t aware of her injury before touching her, which led to her fainting.
Soon after, the doctor informs Mel of her bruised liver, emphasizing that if it were worse, she could’ve died. Realizing the fatal state that she’s in, Mel debates whether to tell the truth instead of conforming to the made-up excuse of her clumsiness as the cause of her injury.
Attempting to save himself from being caught as the cause of Mel’s injury, Anton abruptly crafts another shallow reason, but Mel gives in and decides to affirm the first excuse about her slip and fall.
When the doctor mentions Mel’s enormous billboard along EDSA, she feels thrilled, for a while overlooking the troubling events that took place.
Observing her delight, Anton’s words are laced with ulterior motives, especially when he speaks of how Mel has things she wants to protect, which Anton can easily deprive her of.
Erica and Lucas race to Esther’s hiding place
The first to reach Esther (Malou Crisologo) is Lucas (JM de Guzman). He approaches her with an apparent gentleness, yet once he reveals who he is, Esther grows agitated.
Meanwhile, Erica (Kaila Estrada), with Marco (Race Matias), also rushes to the scene. Upon their hasty arrival, the two spot Lucas’ car and hear a pained scream.
Immediately following the noise, they find Lucas peering down at an unconscious Esther.
