After rocking the stage and literally having fun onstage as American singer-actress Cyndi Lauper in the Week 2 of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” Rufa Mae Quinto went on to impress everyone, especially the jury, with her transformation to Miley Cyrus as she performed her Grammy-winning hit “Flowers” in the third week.
The sexy comedienne imparted that she’s actually very familiar with the song since she often listens to it. In her mentoring session with the show’s resident vocal mentor, Klarisse de Guzman, she was told to keep her voice husky and thick, which can be compared to an angry dog and a throttling motorcycle. Meanwhile, movement mentor Nyoy Volante advised her to just envision herself as sexy, tough, and empowered woman since this is the vibe or personality that the Hollywood singer-actress exudes in her every performance.
And Rufa Mae astonishingly pulled off her impersonation of Miley, which made the jury erupt from their chairs out of sheer exhilaration and amazement as they danced along to her rendition of “Flowers.” Just like in her previous appearances on the program, she went on to have an almost nonstop, hilarious banter with hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hiario as they exchanged jokes with one another, as well as with the jury.
Judges Nyoy, Klarisse, Sharon Cuneta, and Ogie Alcasid—who all couldn’t hold their laughter as they watched and joined the banter of the three comedians—commended Rufa Mae for her level up performance and the effort she had exerted. Thus, they implied in jest that there’s a huge possibility of her getting to a higher rank this week, which she seemed not to believe, especially if it was Ogie who was telling her.
