The mystery may be far from over, but Patrick (Joshua Garcia), Mia (Anne Curtis), and Matmat (Carlo Aquino) are making us smile a little as they share a very sweet milestone altogether, their first family photo, in "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" Episode 55.
Before the photoshoot begins, a little roadblock comes up as Patrick refuses at first to join the pictorial, without telling Mia that the real reason is because he’s still weighed down by his recent discoveries about his and Matmat's mother's death. He just says he doesn't want to, and Mia lets him be and decides to push through with the pictorial with just her and Matmat, who looks so adorable in his modern barong with colorful scribbles on the fabric, for the pictures they’ll use in the book they’re creating.
Matmat, thrilled that his photo will be part of Mia’s book as her illustrator, keeps practicing his smile over and over. But Mia tells him there’s no need to rehearse it since the photo will still turn out handsome if Matmat just lets his smile come out candidly.
Mia, on the other hand, can’t seem to smile completely because Patrick isn’t with them. Meanwhile, Patrick pauses when he sees the outfit Mia prepared for him. Hanging on it is Satsat along with a handwritten note where Mia says that she hasn’t had any nightmares since she's had Satsat, and that she’s happy to have Patrick and Matmat as her family. The note softens Patrick’s heart. He puts on the barong Mia prepared and follows them to the photoshoot. Matmat looks so proud seeing his brother looking dashing by his side.
Later, Patrick visits the spot in the forest near the mansion where he and Matmat once found their mother’s bloodied, lifeless body on the night she was killed. He whispers to her that Mia is now part of their family, but also vows that he'd make Ingrid pay for what she did. Patrick knows this will change everything, so as he pursues justice, he promises to protect Mia too.
Inside the mansion, Patrick smiles when Mia mentions that she got to talk with his best friend Jason (Francis Magundayao). She tells him how she asked Jason about his sudden change of mood, and Jason replied that being Patrick’s best friend taught him to just wait until Patrick himself is ready to share what’s on his mind. She points out that maybe this is why Patrick relates to her book "Si Happy, Ang Masayahing Aso" because like Happy, he doesn’t easily feel comfortable with just anyone.
That’s when Patrick opens up at last. He admits he’s weary of protecting others out of responsibility. From now on, he wants to protect not just out of obligation, but because of love. And with that, he assures Mia that she is now part of those he’ll keep safe.
When Patrick arrives at OK Hospital ready to start his duty, he is met by a commotion as Samuel (Michael de Mesa) is being rushed out on an ambulance due to an emergency. He also catches Eden (Agot Isidro) and Olivia (Maricel Laxa) in yet another heated argument, as Olivia desperately pleads with the newly promoted Nurse Manager to place Samuel back under her care. Eden snaps back that Olivia's desperation only confirms she was right to pull Samuel from her supervision.
Watching the commotion, Patrick recalls Zelda (Ana Abad-Santos)'s warning that Ingrid is just lurking somewhere inside OK Hospital. And based on what he read in her unpublished final book, she may have changed her face and identity. Patrick starts to suspect that among the female nurses in the facility, judging from their age, only two could possibly be Ingrid.
Later, Patrick discreetly begins to investigate Olivia and Eden by asking Nanay Li (Rio Locsin), one of the facility’s longest-serving employees, about the two nurses. Nanay Li shares that Eden came to OK Hospital ten years ago and aside from that, she knows almost nothing about her background. Olivia only arrived three years ago after moving from one hospital to another.
Eden enters the mess hall and finds Mia happily chatting and eating with Patrick, Nanay Li, and Matmat. The 'happy' scene irks Eden, disappointed that Mia can visit the hospital without checking on her father. The newly promoted Nurse Manager flashes a sharper expression on her face upon learning of Patrick and Mia’s relationship, a reaction that Patrick notices.
That night at the mansion, Patrick and Mia talk about the house which is filled with painful memories for her. She wants to have it renovated, while Patrick asks if Mia would come if he and Matmat move somewhere else. The thought saddens Mia, worried that the brothers might once again uproot their lives. She reassures them that they don’t need to leave, that the mansion can still be their home and they will never part as a new family. Patrick and Mia seal the vow with a kiss.
