Niall Horan reflected on the differences between One Direction and K-Pop groups.

During an interview on the podcast Therapuss, the singer was asked whether he could relate to the experience of K-Pop artists.

"None of our bit was like, super choreographed or anything like that. So they’re very different," he pointed out.

Niall added that the style of boy groups varies greatly from one generation to another.

"Each generation seems like it’s got, like, boy bands, but they’re all kind of different to each other,” he said. "We didn’t wear all white outfits and do routines and things like, say, *NSYNC or Backstreet [Boys]. We just kind of walked around [on stage]."

Specifically, the One Direction member highlighted how impressed he is by BTS's ability to execute complex dance routines.

“When you watch BTS dance, you’re like, ‘Okay, honestly, I have no idea how to do anything you’re doing, but it’s kind of crazy what you’re doing.’ It’s pretty intense, but it’s amazing,” he said.

Niall first gained international fame as a member of the boy band One Direction, which was formed during the 2010 season of The X Factor. The group released five chart-topping albums and became one of the most successful boy bands in music history.

Following One Direction's hiatus in 2016, Niall launched a solo career and released a string of successful albums, including Flicker in 2017, Heartbreak Weather in 2020, and The Show in 2023.
