Olivia Rodrigo announced the first single from her new album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl so in Love.
On Wednesday, April 8 (PH time), the Filipino-American singer revealed that her new track "Drop Dead" will be out on April 17.
She also shared a photo of herself blowing bubble gum, wearing a shirt with the words "drop dead," hinting at the song's aesthetics.
Fans online were quick to react to Olivia's announcement.
"OMG WE ARE SOOOOOO BACK!!!" one fan wrote.
"Let's go girl!" another fan said.
You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl so in Love is the third studio album of Olivia and will be released on June 12.
On her official website, the singer teased what fans can expect from this record.
"No matter how hard I try to write love songs, they always come out laced with a little melancholy. I am so proud of this record and I can't wait for you to hear it, she shared.
In a recent interview with British Vogue, the singer admitted that creating the album posed a unique challenge, especially since she was in a happy relationship at the time.
"It was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place. When you’re experiencing that you’re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you’re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!" she pointed out.
She also hinted that many of the songs lean toward "sad love songs," adding, "I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them."

Olivia previously released the albums Sour and Guts.
For her Guts tour, Olivia staged the Philippine leg of the concert at the Philippine Arena in October 2024.
In an interview with Elle, the singer expressed her gratitude for the warm reception she received from her Filipino fans during the concert
"Being able to go there and visit and just see how warmly they embraced me and welcomed me, it really meant so much to me," she remarked.
Olivia said she hopes to return to the Philippines soon. "I love the Philippines so much and I can't wait to go back. And I'm just so grateful to everyone for just welcoming me with open arms. It meant so much," she said.
