Spice Girls and One Direction mentor Simon Cowell hits the Golden Buzzer for the former iDolls member-turned-Glasgow-based-Filipino-waiter Matty Juniosa's fiery rendition of the Prince classic "Purple Rain".
Former Idol Philippines finalist Matty Juniosa made waves in the international reality talent search competition Britain's Got Talent. He received the Golden Buzzer from record executive and starmaker (Spice Girls, One Direction) Simon Cowell, leaping from the auditions stage straight to the live rounds.
The former third of the Idol PH finalists supergroup iDolls (together with Lucas Garcia and Enzo Almario) impressed the audience with his rendition of the iconic Prince classic hit "Purple Rain". The performance prompted the crowd to overwhelming clamor for the Golden Buzzer. Juniosa has been residing in Glasgow for the past three years in Glasgow, Scotland as a part-time waiter.
“I have been waiting for this chance to finally put an end to this long thing that I’ve been thinking about myself, that I will always be a singing competition loser,” Juniosa said to the judges, referring to his stints in Idol and other TV singing competitions he joined in before.
His post-Idol Philippines career included a brief recording career with StarPop PH and ABS-CBN Music releasing a solo single "Sayaw Ng Mga Tala" (written by Himig 11th Edition Songwriting competition winner Danielle Balagtas) and singles and viral performances as part of iDolls.
