Veteran actor Mon Confiado says he has no plans to turn down roles in sexy films, such as those produced by VMX, explaining he sees them as opportunities to take on the kind of roles he rarely gets to portray after decades of being typecasted as an antagonist.
Confiado is set to lead Ronald Batallones’ “Modista” with Michaella Raz and Kim Yashii.
Why Mon Confiado believes in method acting
“More than 30 years na ako sa pag-arte, typecasted ako sa pagiging kontrabida. Siguro 80 percent nang ginawa ko na pelikula ay kontrabida,” the actor said during the press conference for the film. Hindi ko tinitingnan as ‘Ha? Tanda mo na mag-bold ka pa ba?’ Parang ganon. Hindi ko tinitingnan as ganon.”
Being a seasoned actor, Confiado said projects like “Modista” continue to excite him because they offer layered characters that challenge him.
Maganda kwento. Maganda character,” he reasoned. Very challenging sa akin.

Confiado added he does not view the genre differently from any other project as he remains open to any work that offers a promising experience and story.
Apart from “Modista,” Confiado has several other movies lined up, including “Ang Mamatay ng Dahil Sa ’Yo.”
