MANILA -- "Open Endings," the No. 1 box office performer in the 2025 Cinemalaya Film Festival, is headed for a nationwide release -- just in time for Pride Month.
The movie, which stars Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Klea Pineda and Leanne Mamonong, will be released in cinemas nationwide on June 10.
Creazion Studios confirmed the development on Monday, with "Open Endings" part of their slate for 2026.
"Open Endings" emerged as the No. 1 movie at Shangri-La Plaza, Ayala Malls Cinemas, and Gateway Cineplex during last year's Cinemalaya, according to organizers.

"Honestly, I'm just really happy na more people will be able to watch our film, kasi nabalitaan namin na maraming hindi nakapanood last time kasi nga limited nga 'yung tickets, tapos sold out. So happy ako na mabibigyan kami ng chance ulet. Hopefully 'yung mga hindi nakapanood last time, ma-watch nila," Salvador told ABS-CBN News.
"Open Endings" was well-received by critics, earning inclusion in a handful of "best Filipino films of 2025" lists at the end of the year, including Rolling Stone Philippines.
The sapphic movie tells the story of four queer women who all dated each other at some point in their lives before developing a "ride-or-die" friendship. One of them will make a life-changing decision that tests their bond.
While the film missed out on Cinemalaya's Audience Choice award, it earned a special citation for "Best Ensemble Performance."
"Hopefully, hindi lang dito. Malay natin, sa iba pang mga countries, makaabot tayo. So, really just happy and excited to be here, to finally have a platform," Salvador also said.
After Cinemalaya, "Open Endings" competed in the Asian Next Wave, the main competition section of the 2025 QCinema International Film Festival in November last year.
The movie had its international premiere at Wicked Queer, Boston's LGBTQIA+ Film Festival on April 6. It was also selected for the Queer East Festival in London on May 23.
