JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith are taking a major step forward as the JMFyang love team prepares to lead their first-ever solo film together. Regal Entertainment, Inc. has officially announced Almost Us as the title of their upcoming movie, to be directed by Exes Baggage and The Breakup Playlist director Dan Villegas.

The announcement marks a milestone for the pairing, who have steadily built their on-screen partnership since first capturing public attention on Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11. Their natural dynamic inside Bahay ni Kuya quickly resonated with viewers, laying the foundation for a transition from reality TV to onscreen projects.

The project was initially revealed in early January through a collaborative Instagram post by Project 8 Projects, Regal Entertainment, Lunchbox, and Direk Dan. At that time, the film was introduced under the working title IRL (In Real Life). The recent confirmation of its official title, Almost Us, further heightened anticipation among fans who have closely followed the duo’s journey.

JM helped amplify the announcement by reposting the news on his Instagram stories, adding to the buzz surrounding the film’s release.

The complete cast lineup for the movie is expected to be announced soon.

Almost Us also marks a collaboration between Regal Entertainment and Project 8 Projects, the production company founded by acclaimed Filipino director Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas. The partnership between the two production companies has built expectations as details about the film continue to unfold.

JMFyang’s rise has been shaped by a series of successful projects, including their stellar performance in the Metro Manila Film Festival hit Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Evil Origins, which emerged as the second highest-grossing film of the festival last year, as well as their first lead roles in the iWant series Ghosting.

Almost Us is set to premiere in cinemas on May 6.
