The cast and crew of KPop Demon Hunters shared their excitement after the hit Netflix animated film earned two nominations at the Oscars, which are Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for "Golden."
Arden Cho, who voices the film's main character Rumi, was in South Korea when she learned about the nominations. Taking to social media, the actress expressed her gratitude to the Academy.
"Waking up in Korea to some incredible news! Swipe to see the literal mood right now. We are going to the Oscars!!! Thank you so much to the @theacademy what an incredible honor to be nominated, I’m so thankful to have been a part of this special movie," the actress wrote.
Arden also congratulated the entire team behind the film, noting that the achievement was a collective effort. "Major congratulations to [the team]," she said. "And really the whole village it took to make this movie happen."
Arden remarked that it is an honor to be part of the film. "Thank you, love you all. Honored to have voiced Rumi and can’t believe this ride just keeps going! 💜✨"
EJAE, the singing voice behind Rumi and a co-writer of "Golden," likewise celebrated the milestone online.
"AHHHH! So honored and grateful to be nominated for an Oscar!! Congrats to our incredible directors @nutmags @appelhansc none of this would have happened without your guys incredible creation ❤️ so honored to live in ur world ❤️ Congrats to the whole team... and everyone who worked so hard to bring this movie & music to life ❤️," she stated.
Film director Maggie Kang also took to Instagram Stories to celebrate the feat. "Congratulations to all the nominees and the KPop Demon Hunters Crew!!! We are going to the Oscars!!!" she posted.
KPop Demon Hunters centers on Huntr/x, a K-pop trio juggling their superstar lives with a hidden mission which is battling demons. Their double life takes a dangerous turn when they clash with the Saja Boys, a rival boy group whose members are revealed to be actually demons.
Back in December 2025, Netflix announced that KPop Demon Hunters reached 500 million views since it premiered on their platform.
