Even though the details about his upcoming new series is still being kept to a minimum as of this writing, Gerald Anderson couldn’t help but share how excited he is to be teaming up with Richard Gutierrez for the very first time onscreen. The 36-year-old actor revealed that he has always wanted to collaborate with the Incognito star for a long time already.
“When I saw Chard sa station ID shoot (last year), I said, ‘This guy is on my bucket list. I really want to work with him! Wala pa itong show nun. So I think I manifested it (laughs).

Having joined showbiz via the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition in 2006, Gerald admitted that Richard already has way more experience in showbiz than him and that he has never felt any kind of rivalry with his fellow action star.
“How can you be a rival with him? He’s Captain Barbell! No joke. I saw one of his interviews recently and he said he’s a competitive person. And for us to be working on the same team and ganun mindset niya, with this kind of story, good luck sa iba! (laughs). I don’t want to sound mayabang or anything but wow, we’re on the same team so we have a secret weapon. Yan ang tingin ko dito eh. Very passionate actor, very passionate person.
"From the other channel, from all the success na meron siya, and he’s still working at this level and he’s still here. And we get to do this kind of show. Ang dami ko pang gusto sabihin tungkol sa show namin pero hindi pa puwede. So it’s a perfect combination. Me, him, and this project. You have a passionate actor who’s been doing this and still at the top of his game. It’s going to be exciting. Super exciting,” Gerald told PUSH ABS-CBN.
Set to be an action-packed series to be directed by FM Reyes, Gerald shared why he did not hesitate at the chance to star in this project.
“It’s a beautiful story. Malalim and I don’t want to say too much but we both have big responsibilities on our shoulders for this show, for the channel, and for the company. But we have a great team. Everyone around the table is mga genius and brilliant and mga hardworking people. Si direk FM and we’re in good hands. No joke ha, pero nasa Gensan pa lang ako and he had a show na Sugo and yung barkada ko na kababata ko sabi, ‘Bro, magkamukha kayo. Sana magsama kayo, yung ganun.’ Now I know kung bakit ngayon lang kami pinagsama,” he said.
With their series scheduled to start taping this January, Gerald revealed that his latest project is going to be more than just an action series.
“Well, base sa teaser namin, parang action right? But I don’t want to look at it that way. para sa akin, this is going to be the most beautiful show. Kasi we’re going to be telling a story of mga bagay na nangyayari sa atin ngayon, as a country, different cultures. There’s going to be brotherhood. there’s going to be family drama, love. But I think the perfect word, based sa teaser namin, may mga pasabog na mangyayari,” he added.
