Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 housemates JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith are officially making their big-screen debut in the upcoming horror anthology film Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, their first movie project together.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the rising Kapamilya stars, popularly known as “JMFyang,” shared their excitement about joining the star-studded cast of the long-running Filipino horror series.
“We’re very excited and we’re very grateful. Happy, very wow, very shake shake, very roll. First-ever movie namin ito,” Fyang happily shared.
The PBB Gen 11 Big Winner expressed gratitude for being chosen as one of the leads in the MMFF 2025 entry.
“Together, first namin. Very excited kami, very happy kami na isa kami sa napiling lead role ng Shake Rattle & Roll. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to showcase, to share our very very very well talent. Sana po abangan ninyo ang aming pinaghahandaan na Shake Rattle & Roll,” she added.
Meanwhile, JM shared that it was a full-circle moment for him—especially since horror isn’t typically his go-to genre.
“Ako, hindi talaga ako nanonood ng horror, pero sa SRR napanood ko talaga. ’Yung sa MRT, ‘yun yung pinakapaborito ko sa lahat and na-excite ako kasi hindi ko naman ugali na manood ng horror then nabilang pa ako sa gagawing SRR,” JM said.
The newcomer also teased how different his role in Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Evil Origins is from his character in their current digital series, Ghosting.
“Ang nakakaexcite dito, ‘yung character. Ibang-iba ‘yung character ko kaya sobrang excited ako na gawin. Iba’t iba dito sa ginawa ko sa Ghosting,” he added.
The pair also talked about working alongside seasoned and young actors like Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin.
“Sobrang light ng awra nila nung first meet namin and sobrang accommodating po nila, halatang very professional, pagka work talaga is work. And very mabait. Sobrang artist. ‘Yung word na artist? Sila ‘yun,” they shared.
Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins is one of the first official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025. It is directed by Shugo Praico, Joey de Guzman, and Ian Lorenos.
The ensemble cast also includes Ivana Alawi, Kaila Estrada, Loisa Andalio, Manilyn Reynes, Janice de Belen, Carla Abellana, Ysabel Ortega, Ashley Ortega, Elijah Alejo, Richard Gutierrez, Ryan Bang, and Dustin Yu.

Aside from the film, JM and Fyang are currently starring in Ghosting, a horror-fantasy-romance digital series streaming on iWant. The story follows a heartbroken girl who encounters a ghost with a mysterious quest.
The show is currently ranked 4th among the Top 10 shows on the platform and has received positive feedback, especially for its pilot episode.
“Sobrang happy, of course. Episode 1 palang, grabe na ‘yung mga reviews sa episode 1, so excited ako na mapanood nila ‘yung episode 2 and the rest ng episode. Kasi, kung yung episode 1 nagustuhan na nila, paganda ng paganda, pataas ng pataas yan,” JM expressed.
The two also opened up about learning more about each other through their first onscreen partnership.
“Na-discover ko sa kaniya is very very hardworking siya. Every time na work na talaga, as in focused na siya,” Fyang shared on what she discovered about JM.

In return, JM praised Fyang, “Ako, na-discover ko naman kay Fyang is ‘yung natural na talino niya sa trabaho, kasi sobrang fast learner niya sa lahat ng instructions na binibigay ni Direk. Mabilis niyang aalamin, maiintindihan. Mabilis niya ia-adapt.”
