MANILA -- After almost two months, ABS-CBN's "Idol Kids Philippines" finally completed its auditions round to find the first-ever "Idol Kids Philippines" grand winner.
In Week 8 of the singing competition, from hundreds of young auditionees from various parts of the country, eight young hopefuls received the spotlight as they made it to the next round of competition after receiving golden tickets from judges Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, Angeline Quinto, and JK Labajo.
Twelve-year-old hopeful Billy from Taguig, impressed judges with his performance of "Sumayaw Ka." The young auditionee who loves to join singing competition has received four yesses from the judges.
Zoe, 11, from Las Piñas, whose family is into music, received three yesses from the judges with her "Babalik Sa 'Yo" performance.
Seven-year-old Meerah from Quezon City, who was taught by her father to sing, performed "Salamat" and received a golden ticket from the judges.
Cavite's hopeful Marchelle, 9, who learned to sing from her mother, will be performing again in the next round after she impressed the judges as she sang "Till I Met You" and got three yesses.
In Sunday's episode, 12-year-old hopeful Leisah, who dreams to become an idol and whose passion is music, successfully received four yesses from the judges with her performance of BINI's "Karera."
Jirah, 12, from Cadiz, Negros occidental, is moving to the next round with her "Kahit Ayaw Mo Na" performance. The young singer, who joined the singing competition to help her ill-stricken father, received three yesses.
Kiddie hopeful Jewel, 13, from Calauag Quezon, received three yesses from the judges with her powerful performance of "Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal."
Hopefuls Chloe, 12 (Bulacan); Bella, 13 (Caloocan City); Jinwen, 10 (Rizal), and Cataleya, 12 (Cavite) also advanced to the next round of the competition.
Last to perform was 10-year-old auditionee Samantha from San Pedro Laguna. She received a golden ticket and will be moving on to Middle Rounds with her performance of "Rain." She received three yesses from the judges.
The Mid-Rounds of the singing competition, which kicked off last June 28, will begin next week.
"Idol Kids Philippines" hosted by Robi Domingo and Jolina Magdangal airs Saturdays and Sundays on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live, and TV5.
