Daughter of singing champion joins 'Idol Kids Philippines'

The daughter of Jerome Sala, grand winner of the third season of "Search for a Star in a Million," wowed "Idol Kids Philippines" judges with her rendition of "Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita."

MANILA -- Fatima, the daughter of Jerome Sala, grand winner of the third season of "Search for a Star in a Million" wowed "Idol Kids Philippines" judges Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Angeline Quinto and JK Labajo with her rendition of "Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita."

In Week 7, Fatima, 12, from Pilar, Bohol was praised for her beautiful voice. According to Fatima, who also loves to join beauty pageants, her father Jerome taught her how to sing. 

Fatima, who also did a duet with her father, received three yesses from the judges.



Aside from Fatima, Jay-R, 12, from Calasiao, Pangasinan,  received a golden ticket from judges with his "Tagumpay Nating Lahat" performance. According to Jay-R, he joined the hit singing competition for young singers to help his family who lost his job during the pandemic.  



Seven-year-old Rain from Bacoor, Cavite is moving to the next round of the competition after receiving four yesses from the judges, who were also impressed by how she controls her voice. The young hopeful, who loves to read, performed "Home."




Katherine, 11, from San Jose del Monte Bulacan started to sing when she was only two-year-old. The young auditionee, who was inspired by her parents when it comes to singing, performed "Pangarap Na Bituin" and received four yesses.



On Sunday's episode of the program, Dipolog City hopeful Zian, 11, a valedictorian in their class, impressed the judges with his performance of OPM classic "Anak." He is moving to the next round with three yesses.



Dexter, 12, from Sta. Ana, Manila, who's trying to continue the dream of his mother of becoming a popular singer, received 4 yesses from the judges with his powerful performance of "Tatsulok."



Nine-year-old Sayen from Lipa, City, who loves taekwondo, received a golden ticket as she successfully captured the hearts of the judges with her rendition of "Maybe This Time."  



Last to perform and will be moving to the next part of the competition is Rain from Negros Occidental. The 11-year-old hopeful who wants be a lawyer, received three yesses from the judges. She sang the OPM hit "Maging Sino Ka Man." 



"Idol Kids Philippines" hosted by Robi  Domingo and Jolina Magdangal airs Saturdays and Sundays on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live, and TV5.
