Filipino Golden Globe nominee Dolly de Leon is in talks to star in the upcoming dark comedy film The Heidi Fleiss Story.
The movie is a biopic on "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss.
According to Deadline, Dolly is set to play Madam Alex, the notorious Beverly Hills madam who mentored Heidi before being betrayed by her protégé. She will join Aubrey Plaza, who takes on the title role, and Alana Haim, who will portray Jacolyn, an aspiring writer determined to tell Heidi's story.
Set in Los Angeles in 1993, the film follows Heidi Fleiss, a young and powerful woman arrested for running an elite prostitution ring. Heidi then uses her influence and schemes in a desperate bid to erase the charges against her.
Dolly took to social media to express her excitement about the project.
"Grabe! To step into the shoes of the first and only Filipina Madam of Hollywood, Alex Adams - this is what I live for," she posted on her Instagram page.
Fans online were also quick to react to the news.
"Yes queen rooting for you," one fan commented.
"You are just unstoppable! Kudos!" another fan wrote.
Dolly recently starred in her first Hollywood series, Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2, alongside Nicole Kidman.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Dolly recalled the moment she was offered the role of Agnes, a former nun, in the show.
"Binasa ko 'yung script and I fell in love with the character immediately and that's primarily also why I said yes it. I love my character. Her name is Agnes, dating siya madre, pumasok siya sa wellness center ni Nicole Kidman para mag self-healing," she said.
The series was filmed over six months, from January to June of the previous year, in Munich, Germany and in Austria.
Dolly was previously nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the British Academy Film Awards in 2022 and Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards in 2023 for her performance in Triangle of Sadness.
