Dustin Yu is having a dream year, starring in not one, but in two 51st Metro Manila Film Festival entries. He could not be more thrilled to share the screen in one of those movies with familiar faces from his Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Season 1 journey, Bianca De Vera and Will Ashley.

Aside from starring in Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins, Dustin will be taking part in a lead role as LA in Love You So Bad, a film co-produced by Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, and Regal Entertainment, directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar. Before its release, Dustin shared with PUSH Bets of PUSH ABS-CBN how it feels working with fellow PBB Alumni Bianca, who plays Savannah, and Will who portrays Vic, also both as lead-stars in the film.
For Dustin, working with Bianca has been a special experience, one that feels worth waiting. “Working with Bianca…Si Bianca kasi nakabuo kami ng special relationship inside PBB. And then now, na magka-work na kami, it makes it more special.”

“Mas nakaka-excite kasi bago e, first time naming mag-work together. So iba, iba. Kasi sa PBB pinagku-kwentuhan lang namin [na] ‘sana magka-work tayo together paglabas’ and now it’s a dream come true to us,” he said, recalling all their past conversations and aspirations they had inside the Bahay ni Kuya.
He added with a smile, “Nakakatuwa. Now thinking about it parang isa siya sa blessing talaga. Malaking impact for me.”
Meanwhile, working with Will Ashley has been just as meaningful, allowing Dustin to learn from the actor. “Working with Will, alam naman natin si Will matagal na sa industriya. I’m super grateful and honored na makatrabaho siya. For sure marami na siyang experiences.”
“Nakakatuwa lang rin kasi nakapag-work na kami before sa Mano Po,” he added.
Aside from the romance-drama, Dustin is also making waves in the horror MMFF 2025 entry Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, a franchise he first joined two years ago.
“Nag-Shake, Rattle, & Roll na ako two years ago. Pero this time around kasi iba e, MMFF na. Yung character ko dito mas detailed, mas magugustuhan ng tao ‘to. Talagang pinagtrabahuhan ko lalo. I would say it’s really special to me. After PBB ito yung first project ko," Dustin shared.
Playing Riel, a brave brother willing to do everything for his family, Dustin said his role carries personal pride. Together with him in the horror film are Kapamilya stars JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, Richard Gutierrez, Karina Bautista, among others.
After his MMFF journey, Dustin also takes part on another collaboration of ABS-CBN and GMA Network for the multi-genre series The Secrets of Hotel 88, featuring more Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition alumni.

Though Dustin is now riding a wave of opportunities, he shared that his entry into showbiz was unexpected, even for him and his parents. “Well, sa showbiz naman talaga, for me, you wouldn’t expect rin talaga kailan ka magkaka-big break e. So ako, nag-wait lang talaga ako for the right time. Nung dumating na yung PBB at after ng PBB, sabi ko ‘wow, buti na lang nag-wait ako’ [for] almost three years.”
“Perfect timing talaga,” he asserted.
Now, with two MMFF entries this year working closely with Bianca and Will, Dustin is at an exciting new chapter in his career, one that celebrates friendship, growth, and the fulfillment of dreams long wished for.
