Kim Chiu shared her experience filming in her hometown of Cebu for her new Prime Video series The Alibi.
In an interview with MJ Felipe on TFC's Are You G?, Kim shared that shooting in her hometown brought many memories from her younger years.
"First time ko mag-lock in sa ibang lugar that involves flying sa airplane, di ba 'yung parang ang layo sa bahay kapag may makalimutan ka talaga, hindi na talaga pwede, so iba," she relayed.
The actress went on: "Lalo na sa Cebu, sa amin, ang dami kong alam na lugar. Minsan tinuturo ko sa kanya (referring to Paulo Avelino), 'Diyan ako naga-abang ng jeep dati... diyan ang school namin. So familiar place, familiar 'yung lugar, nakakatuwa."
Kim relayed that The Alibi explores a genre she has never done before. "'Yung kwento na 'to parang di ko pa siya nagagawa talaga ever. So habang may mga chance and opportunities bakit hindi naman gawin of course with Paulo," she stated.
She added: "Hindi ako gumawa pa ng mystery drama, so first time ko siyang gawin, mga theories, mga ganyan. Kahit nagte-taping kami naninibago talaga ako."
The Alibi is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7.
It was in June when ABS-CBN announced that Kim will be starring in The Alibi alongside Paulo.
The project is a romance-suspense series to be helmed by the same creative team behind Kim and Paulo's hit drama Linlang. The series is led by directors FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin, written by Danica Domingo, and produced by Dreamscape Entertainment.
The Alibi marks KimPau's much-anticipated reunion following the success of their previous projects: the mystery-thriller Linlang, the Philippine adaptation of the romantic-comedy What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, and the Star Cinema box-office hit My Love Will Make You Disappear.
Kim also debuted a new hairstyle when the project was first announced in June.
In a short clip shared by Dreamscape Entertainment on their official social media accounts that month, Kim was seen preparing for her much-anticipated haircut. The upcoming series will feature a bold new look for the actress, sporting short, curly hair that thrilled fans.
"Goodbye long hair, see you again! Naiiyak na ako, nagtatanggal pa lang tayo ng hikaw niyan ah," Kim quipped.
The It’s Showtime host revealed that after 19 years in the entertainment industry, she was finally ready to try something different with her hair. Following the big cut, Kim couldn't hide her delight with her fresh look.
"After 19 years… Welcome to the young and beautiful you. Oh my gosh," she exclaimed.
