MANILA -- Before its release in Philippine theaters, "Topakk" made waves at the 78th Cannes Film Festival and the 76th Locarno Film Festival.

The film's producer, Sylvia Sanchez, stated that she is making every effort to promote "Topakk" in cinemas.

"Kailangan. Unang-una, ipinagmamalaki ko ang pelikulang ‘yun. Pangalawa, ipinagmamalaki ko ang mga artista ko. Ang gagaling nilang lahat kaya sayang kung hindi ko tututukan,” the actress-producer said.

How does she celebrate Christmas this year, given her busy schedule for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024?

"Walang Pasko. Nakapag-celebrate lang kagabi ng 12 (Noche Buena). After niyon, ngayon, today wala talaga.

During one of the film's shooting days, ABS-CBN News was one of the few media outlets given the opportunity to witness an important scene.

The Nathan Studios-produced film stars Arjo Atayde, Sid Lucero, and Julia Montes. It follows the story of a former special forces officer suffering from PTSD who crosses paths with a brother and sister on the run from criminals.

As viewers of Richard Somes' movie complimented Atayde and Montes, Sanchez expressed gratitude for their support.

“Thank you for saying na mayroong mga bagong action stars kina Arjo and Julia. Thank you, thank you.

Sanchez is optimistic about her film's future and asks for additional support from Filipino moviegoers.

Hindi lang ito action, may drama, friendship, family, brotherhood, so iyon ‘yun,” she said.

“Topakk” is still showing in cinemas. It also stars Enchong Dee, Kokoy de Santos, Levy Ignacio, Bernard Palanca, Paolo Paraiso, Vin Abrenica, Cholo Barretto, Julio De Leon, Ivan Carapiet, Jeffrey Tam, Gerard Acao, Michael Roy, Maureen Mauricio, Elora Espano, Claire Ruiz, Anne Feo, Bong Cabrera, Manu Respall, Rosh Barman, Victor Medina, Ivan Rivera, Ian Lee, Nico Dans, Yian Gabriel, Raquel Pareno, Precious Laingo, Kayley Carrigan, and Geli Bulaong.
