For the members of Lola Amour, performing at the 2026 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is more than just another international gig but a great opportunity to represent Original Pilipino Music (OPM) on one of the world's biggest stages.

Speaking during a media interview for their upcoming Alt.Chestra Vol. 1 concert with Over October and shirebound, vocalist Pio Dumayas admitted the band had to keep the news under wraps for months while waiting for the booking to be finalized.

“Noong una naming nareceive yung news, sabi namin sana matuloy. Kasi hindi lang naman siya overnight nangyari yung pagbook na iyon. Ilang months namin siya hinintay kung matutuloy,” Pio said.

Because of the significance of the opportunity, Pio said keeping the announcement a secret was one of the hardest parts.

”It’s big news, so it’s hard to keep it to ourselves. Ilang beses namin pinigil na sabihin sa mga magulang namin, mga kaibigan namin because it is exciting news,” he added.

Beyond the personal achievement, the band views the performance as a milestone for the local music industry that is slowly marking its name in the international scene.

“It’s big for us, but it’s also big for the entire OPM; siyempre, it means representing the country in such a prestigious stage. It’s not something everyone can say they’ve done,” Pio expressed.

Still, the excitement also comes with a sense of responsibility for the band. Sharing the stage with globally recognized performers, Pio admitted the band feels the pressure to deliver a memorable set.

“As much as it makes us proud, there’s also pressure on us to deliver a good show and to represent us correctly and accurately and perform at our best,” Pio stated. “We are proud to be there and we are proud of OPM so wish us luck.”

The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix unveiled its entertainment lineup in June, with Lola Amour joining an international roster of performers across the three-day event.

The "Raining in Manila" hitmakers are set to perform on October 11 at the Zone 1 Wharf Stage of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, joining a lineup that includes international artists Janet Jackson, James Arthur, Mark Ronson, Goo Goo Dolls, ZHU, PREP, The Rubens, Monochrome, DJ Admin, Shane Zsweet, and TeenagePop.
