Vice Ganda shared what fans can expect in his upcoming concert with Regine Velasquez titled Super Divas: The Concert this August.
In an interview with MJ Felipe on TFC's Are You G?, the It's Showtime host revealed the theme of the concert.
"This is gonna be Regine's first, and my first also, dance concert. Dance concert talaga siya," he relayed. "Kasi ‘di ba when you watch a Regine concert, mostly ballad kasi balladeer siya eh. So ito, very less ballad. "
Vice further highlighted that the concert would feature different eras of dance music. "Ito talaga puro fast, as in party-party talaga siya. Dadaanan namin lahat nung evolution ng dance music," he said.
The comedian also shared the backstory on how the concert came into fruition. "Tinawagan ko [si Regine], sabi ko, 'Ate gusto mo mag-concert tayong dalawa?' Tapos sabi niya, 'O sige kailan 'yan?' Tapos nag-meeting kami, tapos [sabi niya], 'Gusto ko dance concert,'" Vice recounted.
When asked by Vice why she wanted a dance concert, Regine replied that she thinks a dance concert would be an exciting one. "Sabi niya, kasi gusto kong ma-excite ulit. Kasi' yung last niya raw, 'yung rock concert, super na-excite siya. Parang kasi ang dami na niyang nagawang concert, gusto raw niya ma-excite ulit. Eh 'yung rock concert, na-excite siya, so feeling niya mae-excite siya 'pag dance concert so super excited siya. So sige, dance concert," Vice said.
In preparation for the concert, Vice relayed that he has been working out by walking on an inclined treadmill. "Kailangan praktisin natin ang mga legs para malakas, kaya super [walking] ako."
Super Divas: The Concert is set to happen on August 8 and 9 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Vice first teased about staging a concert back in February when he was sharing about his plans for the year.
"This year, I'm planning to have a big concert sa Araneta. I'm doing another film again, this year. Hindi ako magsi-skip, magpe-pelikula ako ulit," he said in a previous interview with ABS-CBN News.
