Former Banana Sundae star Sunshine Garcia took to social media to share an emotional message following the success of the SexBomb Girls’ two-day sold-out reunion concerts held earlier this December at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena.
On Instagram, Sunshine posted a video from the finale of their second show, accompanied by a heartfelt voice-over reflecting on the group’s journey.
“‘Yung pangarap lang namin noon natupad na. Hindi naging madali. Nagdoubt din kami kung kaya pa ba talaga namin, kung nandiyan pa din ba yung mga nagmahal sa amin noon. Halos dalawang dekada na ang nakalipas,” Sunshine said in a voice over.
She described the concerts as a risk that proved to be worth it, especially after seeing the overwhelming support from fans they once feared had already moved on.
“Kinailangan naming sumugal para malaman namin ang sagot at hindi niyo kami binigo . Parang gusto niyong sabihin na umpisahan na namin at kayo na ang bahala sa amin. Sinuportahan niyo kami mula noon hanggang ngayon,” she added.
Looking back, Sunshine said the experience allowed them to briefly return to who they once were.
“Alam naman natin na hindi ito permanente pero kahit sandali, ibinalik niyo kami kung sino kami noon, kahit sandali lang, bago kami bumalik sa buhay namin ngayon,” she expressed.
The emotional tone shifted as Sunshine returned to her trademark humor, teasing fans about ticket prices and hinting at another show.
“Oy grabe nakakaluwag luwag na ang mga pinalaki ng SexBomb! Wag kayo masyadong emote emote diyan! Hindi ako sanay! Kailangan bago matapos itong video an ito talaga namang pag ganun, ang saya saya!” Sunshine said laughing.
She added, “May Round 3 pa guys!!”
Earlier, Sunshine also admitted she was still in disbelief over the success of their reunion concerts, which marked their return to the stage more than a decade after the group parted ways.
“Hanggang ngayon umiiyak pa din ako hindi ko alam sobrang saya ng puso ko. Lagi nila sinasabi na sobrang sikat kami dati, pero hindi namin naramdaman yun. Sugal itong ginawa naming concert, kahit kami nag doubt kung kakayanin pa namin,” she stated.
“Lord thank you kasi alam namin na tinulungan mo kami dito binigay mo yung mga tamang tao sa amin,” she added.
It was revealed during the concert that the group members themselves produced the show after no producers initially wanted to take on the project.
Sunshine described the reunion as one of her “happy moments,” thanking her fellow SexBomb Girls for their dedication and sacrifices.
“Sa SB Girls sobrang thank you hindi mabubuo ito kung wala kayo. Yung effort ng bawat isa, mag rerehearse, gigising ng maaga para makapag promote kahit walang TF sobra kaming nagpapasalamat sa inyo,” she expressed.
Even a week after the concerts, SexBomb members and fans continue to share their experiences online, expressing gratitude, nostalgia, and pride.
Actress and group leader Rochelle Pangilinan also shared her thoughts, calling the reunion a dream come true.
“When the idea of the concert first came to life, hindi ko alam kung saan magsisimula. I only have a dream. Ang magkasama-sama kaming SB girls. Isang show. Lahat kami. For one last time, na mabuo sana kami,” she wrote.
Rochelle went on to thank everyone behind the success of the concerts, including guest performers and other members who were unable to participate.
“Sa lahat ng nagmamahal sa SexBomb, maraming salamat sa suporta, saya, at pagmamahal na ibinuhos ninyo sa concert. Gusto lang po naming linawin at ipaalala para sa mga SexBomb members na hindi nakasama, iyon ay may kanya-kanyang valid na dahilan,” she said.
