Dingdong Dantes received what he wished for on his birthday this year: a movie date with his wife, Marian Rivera. The actor celebrated his natal day on August 2.

On Instagram, the actor shared a photo of himself and Marian after watching The Odyssey in Los Angeles, California.

"Birthday wish granted. A rare movie date with my love. The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood," he posted.

Dingdong shared that the movie date provided a much-needed break following months of continuous work.

"After months of nonstop work, this was exactly the breather I needed, made even more special by sharing it with her," he shared.

The experience also reminded the actor of his passion for filmmaking.

"And somewhere between the first frame and the last, I remembered why I fell in love with making movies in the first place," he remarked.

Friends and fans online of Dingdong were quick to extend their birthday messages.

"Happy birthday and happy for youuu!!!" Eugene Domingo wrote.

"Happy birthday po kuya Dong! God bless you and your family! Isa kang magaling na aktor kaya since bata pa ako hinahangaan na kita, kayo ni ate Marian! Continue to inspire and make movies! Cheers!❤️" one fan wrote.

In June, Dingdong and Marian traveled to Quebec to begin working on their upcoming film Remember.

"After three years, na-miss namin katrabaho ang isa't isa,” Dingdong said in a previous interview with ABS-CBN News.

Marian playfully responded, “Parang mas miss niya ‘ko!”

The actress also recalled how strongly the script appealed to them when they first read it. “Nung una naming mabasa talaga ‘yung script, sabi ko, ‘Wow, grabe.’”

Marian described Remember as the “perfect” next chapter following the success of Rewind, which touched the hearts of many moviegoers.
