Veteran singer Bonnie Tyler remains in “very unwell” condition but is now out of a coma.
It was in May when Bonnie’s family first revealed that the singer had been placed in an induced coma in Portugal following an emergency intestinal surgery, prompting concern among fans around the world.

An update released on June 15 confirmed that the singer is no longer in a coma, though she continues to remain very unwell, under close medical supervision as doctors monitor her recovery.
“Bonnie is no longer in a coma but remains very unwell and in intensive care in hospital in Portugal,” the statement read.
While the update offered reassurance that her condition has started to improve, her family emphasized that recovery remains gradual and will require patience in the coming weeks.
“Although her condition is improving, it is a slow process. Her doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery, but it is going to take time,” it continued.
Following the latest health update, many of Bonnie’s fans took to social media to share messages of encouragement, expressing hope that the singer’s strength and resilience would help her pull through the difficult ordeal.
“That's very positive news and I send my warmest wishes to Bonnie for a full recovery ❤️,” one wrote.
“I knew you could do it ❤️ keeping digging deep, we’re all waiting for you,” another added.
Bonnie, best known for her iconic hit “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” was originally set to begin a European tour in late May to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her recording career.
She was also scheduled to perform several concerts this year as part of her Jubilee tour, which was expected to run through December.
However, due to her current condition, her family confirmed that several scheduled performances would either be canceled or postponed until next year, with all shows lined up until the end of August directly affected. Some performances later in the year, however, are still expected to proceed if her recovery continues positively.
The family also apologized to fans and event organizers while asking for continued understanding during what they described as a difficult period.
“We apologise to all of Bonnie’s fans and to our promoter partners for the disappointment that this will cause, but trust that you will understand and bear with us in these difficult circumstances. We hope to see you next year instead.”
Amid overwhelming concern from supporters worldwide, Bonnie’s loved ones expressed gratitude for the continued support and assured fans that the singer has been made aware of the messages being sent to her.
“We would like to thank everyone for the huge outpouring of love and support from all over the world that we have received for Bonnie and want to tell you that she is aware of, and very grateful for, your good wishes,” it added.
