Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca has confirmed that Kapuso actress Rabiya Mateo is his girlfriend. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda on Fast Talk earlier this week, the What Lies Beneath star revealed that he asked her to be his girlfriend during their recent trip to Hong Kong.
“Kami na,” Jake proudly shared.

Jake expressed how amazing Rabiya is and how happy they are in their relationship. He then shared that he was the one who made the first move by following and messaging her on social media.
“She’s always been a crush of mine and once nung tinapos ko yung dalawang programa ko, once I was able to finish my responsibilities, I had to shoot my shot and I messaged her on social media,” he recalled.
The Kapamilya star then shared how inspired he is by the dedication of the former beauty queen as she enters a new chapter of her life–– medical school. He revealed that it was during their trip to Hong Kong that she received confirmation that she got admitted to the University of Santo Tomas’ Faculty of Medicine and Surgery for the next academic year.
“Maybe if we go to [Hong Kong] Disneyland, we’re in the right frequency and I believe if you’re in the right frequency of happiness, you’re gonna manifest your dreams. It happened in Disneyland–– nagkatotoo yung sinabi ko sa kanya,” he said.
It was also in Hong Kong when they made things official, as Jake revealed in the same interview.
“We've been dating for three months and then finally I asked her to be my girlfriend officially,” he expressed.
Now that they’re officially together, Jake asserted that he promised Rabiya to be loyal and respectful towards her at all times–– something that the former beauty queen assured him as well.
“We both want the same things just because we’ve been through similar scenarios in the past. That’s what’s amazing between me and her parang nung nag usap na kami, it was unbelievable how many things we had in common. Even the lessons, not even just the positive things but the lessons along the way –– nag match kami talaga,” he assured.
When asked if he could see marrying her, Jake didn’t hesitate to agree, but maintained that he’s not spoiling anything yet.
“I can see that. I don’t want to spoil it, ayoko mag salita ng ganun, but definitely with her, I can really see it,” he ended.
