Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu isn’t backing down as she asserted her right to express her concern towards her country. On her X (formerly Twitter) account, the Alibi star shared that she was being asked to stay quiet after airing her opinion about the shootout at the Senate earlier this week.
Kim previously criticized the incident and called out how a certain individual should’ve just voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. Though no names were involved, netizens have assumed it was Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa who is facing an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.

“Sa aking opinyon,walang mangyayaring ganito kung kusang susuko ang taong nagsasabing wala siyang kasalan, pangalawa at huli, eto ba ang binoto ninyong senador na nagsasabing magsisilbi sa ating bayan? Panahon na para pag-isipan natin na bumoto ng tama,” she previously shared.
Netizens had mixed reactions to her opinion, with the majority showing support and agreeing, while others told her to remain silent, which she didn’t take lightly. In a new post, she slammed the negative comments and asserted that she is also a Filipino who pays her taxes.
“Nakakalungkot. That’s what happens when concern and opinion don’t align with them—gusto agad patahimikin. Nasanay na ako,” she said.
“Oo, Bisaya ko, pero Pilipino rin akong may karapatang magsalita at magpahayag ng saloobin. Masakit magbayad ng buwis tapos ganito ang nakikita natin,” she added.
Kim maintained that everyone is affected by the recent development in the government, and as a Filipino citizen, she urged people not to fight one another.
“Hindi po tayo ang magkakalaban. Pare-pareho lang tayong mamamayan. Wala tayong kapangyarihang tulad nila, kaya sana dili mumangaway oi. Murag mga bata naman ning uban ba,” she expressed.
